White-Ra Protoss
Name Aleksey Krupnyk
Country Ukraine
Team Tt Esports

Famous from his achievements playing Brood War, White-Ra is one of the oldest pro gamers on the circuit. He became incredibly popular among the community after reaching numerous finals in the Wings of Liberty beta. White-Ra is a dedicated streamer, enjoys teaching and truly values having fun in the game. His play style is unpredictable. He can be cheesy from time to time but is mostly known for being very creative with his “special tactics”. With White-Ra you never know what to expect. The only thing we know for sure is: he cares!

Socke Protoss
Name Giacomo Thüs
Country Germany
Team Team ALTERNATE

German player Socke has more than 10 years of professional gaming experience in Brood War and Warcraft III. He already represented Germany in WCG 2002 in Korea. He’s been working his way towards the top ranks through impressive online play and a solid performance at many major international offline events. Socke likes to take a small break between games—mostly just staring at the screen! The community loves his calm and relaxing voice in his occasional commentaries. In game Socke generally plays a passive macro style which leads to his true power coming out at later stages of the game. He prefers to attack all over the place rather than going for it with one big army.

Ret Zerg
Name Jos de Kroon
Country Netherlands
Team Team Liquid

Famous for his magnificent zerg macro and highly efficient multitasking, Ret is an old school Brood War player. At IEM 2010 he fell in love with the passion people had for StarCraft II and realized he wanted to be part of it. He has lived in Korea twice, last returning in March 2011 after four months practicing in the oGs and Team Liquid house. Ret performs especially strong against terran players and is known for making a lot of drones in almost any circumstance.

Strelok Terran
Name Eugin Oparyshev
Country Ukraine
Team imba.FXOpen

Even though Strelok once stated “I’m a dreamer much more than a machine”, he began his professional StarCraft career playing terran in Brood War. Fortunately for us he’s stuck with his terran forces in StarCraft II, so we can continue to enjoy his fantastic games as he works hard to reach the top. With the launch of his “The Ambitious Terran” project in July 2011, Strelok has begun streaming his training for seven hours a day, seven days a week—and we’re excited to see this intense dedication pay off.

Thorzain Terran
Name Marcus Sebastian Eklöf
Country Sweden
Team mousesports

ThorZaIN is a young, highly talented, friendly and relaxed guy. His switch from Warcraft III to StarCraft II was signalled by him leaving his old team, ‘Online Kingdom’, to team up with ‘Praetoriani’. His StarCraft II career began fairly quietly—participating mostly in Nordic tournaments. That suddenly all changed when he appeared seemingly out of nowhere to defeat NaNiwa at TSL 3 and become champion! ThorZaIN generally performs well as the underdog. He likes to stay under the radar and he doesn’t reveal a lot about his games or builds before large tournaments. ThorZaIN’s games are often action-packed, and he plays particularly well against protoss opponents by displaying excellent control. He doesn't often adjust to his opponents, but instead executes the strategy he has in mind by any means necessary.

Nerchio Zerg
Name Artur Bloch
Country Poland
Team Team Acer

Drawing experience from about 10 years of playing Brood War, Nerchio joined professional StarCraft II gaming in December 2010, coming from a casual team. He plays many online tournaments and performs extraordinarily well, having won six Zotac Cups already. His play style is quite unorthodox: he was the first to play Roach, Infestor, Broodlord in Europe. He’s recently become more and more recognized for his skilful play, and now he has the chance to prove himself in his home country at his first massive offline tournament.

NaNiwa Protoss
Name Johan Lucchesi
Country Sweden
Team compLexity

NaNiWa started his gaming career playing Undead in Warcraft III, and made the switch to StarCraft II at release. On his way to the top of the ladder, his strong personality helped him to overcome many challenges and roadblocks. As someone who really pushes himself, he is never satisfied with less than first place and is highly focused and dedicated to StarCraft II. NaNiWa is one of the few left-handed players who actually plays left-handed. He likes to play straight-up games with very timing-sensitive tactics.

Tarson Terran
Name Tomasz Boroń
Country Poland
Team Millenium

Tarson was a long time Brood War player with many accomplishments in this field. He is a devoted terran player, having played terran in Brood War and maintaining his loyalty to this race in StarCraft II. His success in StarCraft II begun during early tournaments in the beta, and he seems determined to stay on that level and possibly go even higher. He has a multitasking-heavy style and, inspired by Korean terran play, he likes to drop all over the map.
