Diablo® III

Gear-progress

I have no idea how gearprogression works in Diablo, but when i saw the new concept i was quite disappointed, so do you think the old concept was trashed or both could be in the game?

I would say that on the first picture you se the deamon hunter how shee looks at lvl 1.
And then forward to maybe beginning of Hell. or something.

The second pictures i would say he looks about to be lvl 15 in normal and then forward to Hell/inferno i dont know.

The big difference that i can see in these pictures is that both the female and the Male have different types of armor on them, for example quilted armor and plate armor.

Remember thats 18 tiers of Armor divided into 4 diffuculties, but within these Tiers i think you have different types of armor like quilted armor and such!!

To be honest, the old one looks better. I hope the last one in the new is so shiney just because the reflections on the screen.

That old art is way nicer, still that new one might just be a set that is ugly... I don't like for a demon hunter to have such a big helm thing in her head :S I don't think you should look at the colors to much since you can use dyes anyway!

It probably seems male and female have different armor art. But I have to say, the new one is ugly (my opinion) and the old one sweet, I hope that female will have the old one as I plan to play that.

To be honest "hand made" artworks were always better then actual 3D models.

Old concept look far better, the recent inferno pictures missing the hood/scarf?
Hope there will be some others armor pieces/sets with bandit alike guise.

The new one doesn't fit the demon hunter at all, just looks ridiculous. That goes for a lot of Diablo 3 armors.

Nope, each tier has only 1 look/skin. There are only 18 different looks in the game that an item might roll when randomly generated (Legendaries have fixed looks/skins diverse from these 18) and even still those 18 looks are exclusively distributed over the difficulties, last we heard, and tied to a linear progression, i.e. in each difficulty drop totally different looks/skins (no overlap) and each next tier will be, supposedly, more awesome looking.

Plus, afaik, male and female looks will look pretty similar for the most part (accounting for different anatomy and such).

On topic, the first progression is concept art while the second is in-game models... there will always exist a disconnect there. Though I agree the in-game models have much less of the gothic feel the dev team said was a goal for the Hunters. Also, needs more scarves/hoods! ;)

I like them both :) To me, the "old image" looks like progression from normal to hell? I doubt that it's final. And the "new image" is not a really good image, it's taken with a poor quality so you can't judge by looking only at that, the armors are badass.

There are 18 tiers of gear in the game, so the concept art, at least the last one, could be inferno gear. ;)

I dont see how you can compare Concept Art with In-game armor (and not even the same gender on those pictured). Concept Art will always, ALWAYS look more baller then in-game armor.

What are you even talking about, they are not even close to the same looks, even if both were ingame.

My favorite part of that "old image" is the 3th version of armor, just as it's in the trailer, the hood =)!

The first armor that is on male DH ("new image") looks like this on female DH:

just compare.

I agree the 3rd version of the old(concept art) one is badass, the 4th is over the top, how can you be agile with all that heavy armor, horns and what not.

The new version really sucks,I really hope they change it,or a lot of DH will be disappointed.
