I love WoW and Diablo as all the other Games Blizz. did, but i mean, WoW and Diablo have 2 different storyes, and both worked fine being very different from each other, i think that Blizz. should keep Item classification and item name colours as they were in the previous 2 episodes, there is no sense in calling items Leggendary now, damn it's Diablo, let's keep the diablo style, it would be like changeing the fonts on things in game..it is a peculiarity of Diablo, why should they change it in a WoW style font...same goes for item classification and item colors.... changeing them to a WoW style is a non-sense....

It's kinda already in game. By exploring map area you got a chance of getting special event which is allocated to specific area that you are in. You do not have to do it, but if you chose to do it you will get some kind of a reward, like exp / gold / items, therefore I just do not understand OP by suggesting to imply something in game what already is in game.
Unless what he wants is just an easy way to get best weapons of a game by completing easy quests which guarantee 100% drop rate of top tier items... He should just not play Diablo3 such as it is not what Diablo3 is all about. It is about LOOT, and if it is anything close to Diablo2 it will take you about 1 year of playing this game to get more or less close to best gear for your specific build. Mind you... I said close, not best... best items have not been found in Diablo2 yet... |

STOP comparing Diablo 3 with World of Warcraft, they are two totally different games.
Unique will never be Legendary

NO!! Stay in freaking wow where you belong! You guys from wow have done MORE than enough with your evil taint to our beloved game! If you want to look at them that way, there are legendary weapons, the best weapon type for a given class with most coveted and perfect(max) attributes. |

Like a scripted quest for an item would make it more rare than slim drop chance + perfect stats + perfect socketing. Seriously you believing that? It is not made impossible in D3 to reach max lvl and do all the quests, so this means everybody would eventually make those quests and have the items. More contradictory even: Selling items on AH you gained through quest? Why why why should anybody bother to buy it then. And for what price? Should he invest more or less amount of time for the gold price than you that you invested for the quest, and why wouldnt he just do the same? Makes no sense. Dont need it. Did you buy Ral-Ort-Tal runes in D2 or what? Also, there will probably some random item rewards for some quests.
Explanation Quest: "Decard, and he sends you on a mission which requires you to solve puzzles, kill monsters, gather materials, ..." |

Nope.
That's for WoW. This is Diablo - Go Random or Go Home. |

You clearly don't have a clue about games history. Blizzard's game invented the find of objects with different colors, they invented it in Diablo, and than every kind of RPG/Hack'n Slash came after adopted the same color setting; so white for common, green for magic items, blue for rare, and so on....the matter is that Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 never had a so called "Legendary" item. Legendary items are belonging to WoW, cause they did their first appearance in that game, not in Neverwinter Nights, or Baldurs gate, o Sacred....no, WoW stared (riding the Diablo wave ofc) a real itemization of drops... The matter is that Legendary Items DO NOT BELONG to this universe, Sanctuary has always seen UNIQUE items, and they had their name's color in a very exclusive GOLD color. U can't deny what is a fact, D3 has been WoWized to reach easier all the player that have used only one of them or both. The matter is when you change things that are the very bone of the game....eg like the item's class name.... Clear Now? |
Like some bosses have a rare chance of drop an item that starts a trail of quest beginning with you giving the items to Decard, and he sends you on a mission which requires you to solve puzzles, kill monsters, gather materials, win PVP duels etc... Few problems with that, in Diablo any little monster can drop any item, some mobs (champions for example) just has a higher chance to drop higher tier weapons, there is not set item that only some boss can drop, this is what they are trying to avoid.
Whatever you achieve in diablo, or any other game for that fact, someone else will have done before you. I am sorry, but that's the truth in 99.99 of cases; You are not the first doing/getting something. And, the drop rates of rare items are already really, really low. Why would we need another separate system for gathering items? What way would be the fastest? Which one is more rewarding? Once you answer these questions, everyone will be doing the same types of item gathering, which is still something they want to avoid, the idea with the system in place is that you can enjoy all of the content they have created without having to rush bosses. |

I agree, the way things are now there will be someone somewhere that will possibly get a very good drop off one of the first monsters they ever kill once it's released. That's the thing I loved about Diablo 2. You could get anything off anyone. Just the harder they are the more chance at it of course, but that didn't rule out random drops off random mobs!
On topic : No, I don't like the idea of super-long 'legendary' questlines. Diablo 2 at least wasn't -so much- about the quests. I mean, you only had, what, 27 overall including the expansion? Most of it was going through places, killing things, and getting loot. Well.. that's my personal experience anyway. |
|
Diablo 2 never had a legendary type weapon liike Thunderfury etc, but I can tell you now when D2 was in it's prime Windforces, Grandfathers, Tyriels Mights where much more "legendary" than anything i've seen in wow... I mean if you seen someone with a Windforce and by christ you would know as soon as you seen that amazon in a cow farm multi shotting like hell it was instant "FOLLOW THE AMA HE HAS WINDY!" hahaha
