I agree with Nestea here. I don't have Beta-acces, so I have't played D3 myself. I didn't really opt in either, but that's a different story...
The beginning of Diablo is always easy, even if your weapon is bad. Getting some OP weapon from crafting would take out the '' challenge '' of normal. There is nothing more tedious than being OP in a game, so crafting in normal should have it's limits. On the other hand, in D2 Hell was pretty impossible with some classes if you didn't have non-bad gear. So in later difficulties you should be able to craft powerful things, as long as crafting materials aren't abundant. Also, annex, if this game is too hard for you without OP stuff, you can always play in Nightmare difficulty. |

Edited by bobane on 09/02/12 13:32 (UTC) Indeed... as we can now craft items your gear/weapons will be allways updated, not like you are for example level 53 and still wearing items for lvl 30 - 45 just becouse you cant find any better items for your level. |

I don't get it ...
If they don't drop then you can just buy them from RMAH or Gold AH I'm 1000% sure will be plenty of items . In my opinion there will be little to no need of those items from crafting since with gold needed to lvl up u can just buy a couple ...more ... |

The notion that "crafted weapons are too powerful at the beginning" is an oxymoron, it has no meaning. Annex, i dont think you fully understand the term "oxymoron". Saying "Crafted weapons are to powerfull at the beginning" is a perfectly valid statement, and is NOT inherently flawed. There are no contradictions or paradoxes connected to that statement. Example of a valid oxymoron: "Everything i write is a lie" <- hidden oxymoron "Bitter sweet" <- obvious Just saying.....

It's not overpowered. To craft 1 decent itemyou need to salvage 4 items. If you play the full game and not the beta - which is more than just the skeleton king - you will find yourself equipping nearly everything, leaving nothing for salvaging. Even if you get 4 items you can't craft more than 1 item, which is good because you probably didn't find shoulders yet!

You do need to pay some gold before you get the recipe (can't remember when you got to the weapons), so I'm not sure that you will be able to craft the wep for your first char when you reach lvl 5. If you have done the content before, then I can't see the issues with getting the crafted weapon for your second char to speed the lvling up, on content you have done before.

lol the magic of the game will start at lvl 60 i wanna see you then say dmg should be nerfed beta = 13 lvl's that's like 0.1% of the game it's supposed to be easy it's for people to see the gameplay and to have a point in crafting the items to help u in the begging

What everyone is failing to realize is this beta is only normal difficulty. Enjoy the game in normal because they released a video with a bunch of loser looking dudes saying you will get your asses kicked past normal. So..... you might want to beef up on those "OP" crafted items they might come in handy.

Compared to the drops i've seen from SK, some of the yellows he drops are way better then the carfts, also some of the crafts have some good affixes but with poor stats, don't forget that most persons stating that is because they craft gear for level 12-13 when the beta is for level 7-8 and therefore the gear you carf is OP (even tough the term isn't properly used since you wouldn't compare level 50 to level 60 gear either).

Diablo II normal mode also is total faceroll (especially considering that you can spam pots with no cooldown). Maybe late act III is where you should start to be slightly more careful.

You kill Leoric at around level 7-9. At this point you do not have access to the more powerful crafted weapons, which require level 15. At level 15, you aren't grinding Skeleton King anymore, you're way, way past it, with new, more powerful loots. Thinking the beta is the whole game is your mistake, OP.

The first crafting items will get outleveled very fast, which renders them useless.
Also: Normal difficulty is super easy, it is meant to allow new and casual players to get accustomed to the game, like a tutorial. The game "starts" at nightmare difficulty. |

Well in beta I got better weapons by merchants, but crafted armors were better than ones that merchants sold.

i agree Barragor, which is prob why WD dgger,s totems, and DH one handed bows are not craftable at the begining. so its balanced , and please try to remember you wont be stuck at the begining for 4 months come the 15th 45 mins to craft a wand ??? so what it takes 25 mins to kill the king, means youll be half way through act 2 and finding better drops, or still grinding mats in act 1 for an obselete wand .... you just cant make statments like this till the game goes live. personally i wont craft till im 60...i have a cunning plan. |
|
ok so it takes 45 mins to craft an item thats op you say, but after 30 mins you already killed the skeleton king, so your point is invalid
the thing is during those 15 mins when the game is live you are not just gonna farm the same area over you are going to go to the next area and getting even better stuff, thus if you delay to craft the said item you'll be behind. thus its not op at all |
