Diablo® III

Learn to use Shift as you're playing Demon hunter!

If you're picking the Demon Hunter, you should start using Shift when you're shooting around as it sometimes is tough targeting the exact position of a mob.

You can just Hold Shift down and You press a mousebutton, and you shoot anywhere without a actual target.

You might already know this, but its to the people who doesnt.

This can be used on any class, but i feel like Demon hunter has the most use for it :)

Every class needs to do this in order to survive Hell/Inferno, Im quite sure.

Good basic tip tho, for all classes :) .

Bind it to your mouse side button.

I think this is basic knowledge for anyone who played any ranged class in Diablo 2.

I rebinded everything else closer to Shift instead. :)))

I bound it to W/E (w=stay, e=move) in beta, so I am close to potion button (Q) and to spell buttons.

Think I will re-bind shift to mouse. As you don't need to hit mobs to generate hatred it is useful standing at ranged and using shift to spam hatred generating abilities at mobs, that way if you "miss" by not targetting a mob you will still shoot instead of moving closer.

I actually bound it to tab and use m for map....seems simple enough.

Shift is the only key of my keyboard I use while fighting ^^. 1-2-3-4-potion are bind to my mouse.

first thing I did after 30 minutes of playing the DH:

rebind force-stop to "spacebar"

changed my life, and removed the soreness from my fingers

seriously I don't see why anyone would want to stick with the shift key

Sounds awesome! What is the standard function of the space bar?

closes all active windows. Not a big loss

Oh, guess one (or several) ESC hit(s) will accomplish the same. Space Bar it is then. Thanks for saving my left hand a lot of pain. :D

Same. also you seem to gain a small increase in rate of fire when scute'n'shootin' on the DH. becomes more aparent with +atkspeed gear (rings, bow(s) though 1h-Xbows seems to gain the most from shiftmashing. might be due to the dual wield mechanic, but i havent bothered comfirm it in anyway.

Just feels better, wich is also why i havent bothered trying to make a build, because i know im gonna throw it out the window and just go with what feels right insted of what looks right in teori.

If you had read the thread you would've realized that this wasn't new to anyone in here which was also commented on by the OP.

I moved mine to Tab and the tilde keys (so my pinky can drift to either one easily after tossing a caltrops), but the side mouse button is a good idea, too.

May have to play with this a little...

my ''shift'' key is space bar, easier to use 1234 skills this way :) everyone has their own style it seems but yes ''shift'' is your best friend while playing DH and if you really learn a good micro and kiting DH is not so weak

Is there anyway to turn off moving automatically when I fire with left mouse button? If my targeting is off by a bit DM runs at the enemy and gets surrounded. Right mouse button he stands in place as he should. I hate having to hold E to have him stop moving. I've bound health potion to Q and the 1-4 skills to WSAD.
