Diablo® III

Short story discussion/questions

Is Valla the demon hunter that we play in D3? She was heading straight for Tristram.
Is Kehr the barbarian (maybe after helping ppl in that area for a while he decided to go help Tristram)?
The monk isn't the same one from the story but there is a mention of "another" being sent there. It doesn't say anywhere but could the monk from D3 (the one sent) be the brother Aron from the barbarian short story?
Is the heretic WD the one we play in D3?

It looks that way.

Also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RZ2pRgT5O4&t=1m40s = yes the 7 heroes from D2 (the playable classes) WILL be in D3 and will have names and maybe stories? Is Jondar the paladin?

So this time Blizz just decided to go ahead and give them names and stories before we even play them. So much for naming your character and making up stuff about them (ofc you can still do it, the point is they went ahead and decided who they are and why they are there for us BEFORE instead of finding out later like we did with Aidan and like we will with D2 heros). It better be worth it (using them in a book after the last D3 expansion).

Hmmm I made it sound like a bad thing...it's probably not, just wanted to outline the change.

Altho, It seems as if they only did this with Vala, Since there is no mention of gender in the heretic witch doctor for instance, so thats just a backround story for him. Kehr I believe is not the barbarian from D3 since Kehr doesnt have a beard (Its mentioned in the story) and the monk is also just a non-specific highly regarded monk character no mention of gender there either.

"From the markings scrawled on his body, Benu learned that he was of the Five Hills."

WD heretic is male and he did go looking for the falling star. The only missing thing is a name.

"Another member of his order, a peerless monk whom he had always held in high regard, had been sent out to learn more concerning the heavenly fire."

Yep the monk is the most vague. Going to have to wait until 17th May to see if male monk mentions a brother at some point during the game or a mother that died from plague.

It's still possible Kehr is the barbarian if the story takes place about 2 years before D3. He did miss his hair and beard and he did protect the Iron Path for a while since there were stories everywhere and "Iron Wayfarer". Since he wasn't considering himself a traitor anymore it also fits with spotlight video and him trying to get the clans back together. Again going to have to wait for any mentions of a sister, being haunted and/or protecting travelers in D3 to be sure.

I bet the wizard short is going to have a female 18 y o female wizard going to look for the falling star mentioned somewhere (if not the main character like Valla was). I think it's going to depend on who writes it. Matt Burns just mentions "some other guy similar to the main character going to deal with the fallen star", M. Neilson made the the main one go and C.Dayton didn't even mention another barbarian (but might have mentioned the monk).
