Diablo® III

Skill desciption says that any enemy killed will add 1 second to archon's duration.
seeing as archon's dmg is suppose to be quite high, and AoE using disintegrate and such, wouldn't it be possible to just gather up a silly amount of small minions, swap to archon and kill them all for like +60 seconds, or even +30 which shouldn't be hard to achieve, during which time u can do that over and over?
or is the buff limited to the 15 seconds maximum timer or something? ;o
Anyone has any clue about this? was anything said? if so i've missed it..

lol dude... don't know about your experience of the beta, but in average fighting time I would not kill one ennemy per second... you actually have to walk to the next wave etc. But yeah I'm sure people are gonna have fun with how long can you last as an archon :)

I meant you could gather up a big group of mobs by kiting them, though not killing them, then swap to archon form and wtfpwn everything around you for a silly amount of +seconds.
That is something which is doable assuming the archon disintegrate is higher than the normal 155% wpn dmg one, which i believe it is.

Yeah I think damages will most likely be higher but I don't think it's gonna be ALL THAT. Also if there are too many ennemies you might get killed also... And finally I think by pure energy being they especially meant that you have unlimited supply of arcane power while in archon form.

And seriously in inferno, are you really gonna want to risk gathering that many ennemies XD come on now!

Never said i intend on doing that on inferno, but i won't be playing hardcore anyway, so worst comes to worst, you die, and pay the repairs for it or w/e..

but generally i dont think i'll be using archon on inferno, not a part of any of my ideas for inferno builds. its too long a CD, and not worth one of the low CD defensive skills or so which i'd rather have.

Yeah same here. I didn't put archon in there yet... you gotta say though we haven't seen much about it yet.

yep, we'll only know how viable stuff is in 2 weeks, up till then, its all just speculations..

I personally think in certain circumstances you will be able to push the timer on your Archon up quite high and have some huge chuckles about it, which is an awesome fun thing to do and Blizzard won't try take it away from us.

But at the end of the day on things like boss kills and inferno mode play you'll generally just be getting between 15 to 20 seconds of it. Looks like fun though ;-)

I bet the Jar of Souls event from the beta would be pretty sweet with Archon :D
