Diablo® III

I played OB this weekend, and on my first run, on my first toon (a female monk, if it matters), I found a Black Mushroom.. Never seen it since, and noone I know have had it drop.

The item is "Account Bound" and sell price "Cannot be sold"..
Flavour text says something about Adria..

Can anyone shed some light on what this item is used for?

I can't even find the item on D3DB.COM

i wondered that too it came from a clump of mushrooms the level before SK for me

might be the new "Wirts Leg" for the pony level

something to do with Adria - Leah's witch mother....could be nothing tbh but maybe a material for a recipe of Adrias witchcraft stuff or i dont know...

only animals i saw around were mice
i actually chased one while waiting skeleton king to get up ...

I think it's an easter egg. Probably part of some meta-achievement for finding various items through-out the world.

The Black Mushroom was first introduced in Diablo 1. You can find more information about it here:

After completing the quest, you get a Spectral Elixir that boosts all your stats by 3

The Gidbinn is actually a legendary-tier Ceremonial Knife for the Witch Doctor.

Question: If you were Blizzard, and you were planning on including the cow level, would you tell people there would be a cow level? Or would you tell people that there isn't a cow level? Since it is meant to be a "secret" level, I would argue nothing can be determined from the fact that they claim there is none.

lol my friend still has this in his inventory a black mushroom not in the beta....

dunno what to do with it

I got a reciepe called hearding staff, that req. black mushrooms and 3 other igredients.

The mushroom is used along with a few other items, like Leoric's Shinbone, in a recipe to unlock the secret level. So save it ;)

I found a recipt for crafting a 2 hand staff and its one of the items (5 in total) what i need to craft it. together with 50000 gp . no clue what the outcome is yet
