Hello fellas,
I´d like to present you with my newest build, the Chicken Run Melee WD, it has to have Angry Chicken in it, this is what makes its name. As the title might suggest, this is a build which main purpose is lots of fun and to be somewhat viable at the same time: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#WSUdRk!ZcT!YZcZbY So what are we doing here? Well, the average enemy in Diablo is a bunch of mobs, right? So, we turn into an angry chicken (with Hex - Angry Chicken), run in, explode, get that Soul Harvest buff if we don´t have it and spread Locus Swarm with Mana Gain on a couple of enemies. Now, hit em hard with Zombie Tower "HELL YEAH" (Wall of Zombies - Pile On). This should knock them back to give us room to breathe (phew), so, lets pop that Spirit Walk, heal up and get some Health Globes from the already dead, then spreading Locust Swarm if needed and bring the frogs (Plague of Toads: Addling Toads, which should keep some of them confused) in. If cds become available and are needed, use them, especially MORE ZOMBIE TOWERS. Synergies? Of course! We have the must have melee passive: Grave Injustice. Every mob we kill during our melee escapades will give us 1% Life and Mana + 1 sec less cooldown on all the things, which equals into MORE CHICKENS; MORE SPIRIT WALKS; MORE ZOMBIE TOWERS; MORE EVERYTHING! Furthermore(!) we have Poison damage everywhere, which keeps up the good Bad Medicine. So, 20% less damage. But, we are melee WD, so we need more defensives, as we are quite squishy. Hence, Jungle Fortitude bringing us to 36% (1*0,8*0,8=0,64=1-0,36) less damage. Allrighty then. Also, Soul Harvest - Siphon lets us stay alive a little longer. Let the madness begin. But, ... what about single target? Yea, seems like the weakness here, but oh well, I´ll try anyway: 1. RUN IN CHICKEN MODE! 2. Locus Swarm 3. Zombie Tower. 4. Toads if high health, else Soul Harvest and 5. Spirit Walk out of there, reg like crazy. 6. Repeat. MANA! If Grave injustice and Mana Locus Swarm is not enough, we will have to switch out Siphon Rune with Swallow your Soul Rune, but that hopefully is not the case. Now, I think that´s it so far, if you have anything to add/criticize, please DO, in a mannered and respectful tone and explain your concerns, so that we all can benefit from your contributions. Thanks a bunch :P EDIT: Proof for Reddit.

It's an extremly fun to play build indeed. If Single Targets might prove to be a problem - and they mostly will - then call someone to help you... Other than that, if Mana would be a problem, there's the option to change a Rune as you very well said it and that would be fixed.
Most of the game is about fighting herds of monsters, so for that, this build is viable. Run Chicken, Run! :D |
