HC Melee Wizard (witner witch) attempt (Try 1)

Hey all- My first try on a wizard- especially a melee one (have a fetish for trying to make stuff melee even when not optimal)

The idea for the build is high diffculty HC

The build is as follows:

Close/mid range melee wizard -using spectral blade with the (throw weapon)rune- hoping for a cold based weapon for it for synergy

mid range (20 yards) using the sword-if mobs close in- use diamond skin (with prism) that allows me to spam Aoe Ray of frost (sleet storm) while at the same time getting more damage due to cold blooded passive in conjunction with Frost armor- which in turn also deals 120% (thanks to cold blooded) back at melee opponents

Teleport with safe passage for manuvrability as well as damage reduction (thus able to quickly close on range mobs)

Life regen comes from both magic weapon (blood magic) as well as from galvanizing ward (passive)

unstable anatomy is there to knock stuff back when heavily injured and teleport away if need be

I concidered using slow time with miasma -as well as wave of force (with impactful wave) as a get away ability -but seem to find no room for them.

I would appreciate any constructive comments- and even if this sucks badly please remember its my first attempt- so saying "it sucks" wont actually help.

Level required 60... Even if it did work, the real challenge would be getting there in the first place.

Itd take about 5-10 tries Id guess. And then learning the specific skills and mechanics of this build would require some deaths aswell. Id try it in normal first and from there set up a strategy on how to best 1) reach 60, and 2) learn the playstyle and pitfalls of this particular build.

Onto the build itself, my initial reaction would be to add more defensive power. Blur passive, or a different armor. Also, the Spectral Blade range isnt that great, even if Thrown.

@Blaze:
DON'T YOU DARE to go HC without energy armor and a shield. Really you invite pain.

Unstable Anomaly is crap. Sry. But its true. Not worth the slot. Take Blur.

Also use the dam healing blades. They are the best you can get for HC and spectral blades. Get your crit and crit damage up to get high heals all the time.

Also forget Cold blood. Its nice but your major issue is survival. Take Critical Mass for faster teleport and diamond armor.

What ever use else is up to you. But if I ever catch you without energy armor in HC i gone kick your !@#.^^

Yeah, I think Blur will be essential for melee wizards. Remember that barbarians and monks get a passive 30% reduction.

Would take Energy Armor instead of Ice Armor and *maybe* try to fit either Arcane Orb (Arcane Nova) or Explosive Blast (rune of choice) instead of Teleport, for those times when enemies have high frost resist.
