Just saw this on the blizzard US forum,
some dude posted it claiming he found it on some fan site. It containt information regarding a certain monster HP & Dmg on various difficulties including Inferno. again - Spoiler Alert : http://media.diablofans.com/images/news/2012/may/guide/IMG_0104.jpg can anyone confirm it's authenticity ? If it's true, it makes a ton of builds irrelevant for inferno. |

Without making it easy (Inferno is definitely not going to be easy) Blizzard has mentioned in a lot of their dev interviews that they want the player to feel heroic and awesome. So just as much as the content scales up in difficulty our characters will scale up too with gear obtained in those higher level difficulties.
So it should all balance out and build swapping per encounter will be a must all the way through. You'll probably find you have like 10 different builds in the back of your mind to switch and change around as you move through the more difficult content depending on what you find yourself up against.

You also forget - the idea is to try and AVOID swapping builds mid-game, as it will remove you naphlam valor buff, which is a waste to not stack up.
and on the OP's topic: i dont know where those numbers come from, but unless its a leaked jpg from blizz's D3 guide which i see they're releasing, which would be very weird by itself, then i dont know how much these things are reliable. Assuming its old or w/e, the numbers have changed over time vastly. if you check the video of that teleporting mage (in a thread a little bit back on this forum) you could see the calamity rune with the description: "releases a LOW wave of force for 224% wpn dmg". its 75% now. so as u see, stuff changes, and those numbers might be way off. |

the 170k work just like the 170k form WoW while in ICC with a 50k hp tank ... u don't get close to death if you are geared to take it --- the rest should avoid it :)
let us first get to inferno and have the top 10000 players stuck in the same spot, one-shoted every time by a mob ... then the problem will be real |
|
This monster is huge in size. Even as a normal monster it might be uncommon, like the Demon Steads of Diablo 2 Act V. There's this unique Demon Stead "Thresher", cursed + extra strong. It will one-shot you at hell difficulty. So why not in Inferno :)

Have yet too see and Source link as to where this Brady Guide got its info from.
For all we know, its numbers pulled right out of their arses. Secondly, who in their right mind buys a guide to game that havent even been released yet. I'v seen this guid refere to the Enchanter as well .. erh. |

Lol do you know what I love?
There's information like this out there and there are still people who are saying inferno will be too easy. Let's see some math. This is one mob that does 170k (170000) damage in one hit, has a fast movement speed and is mounted (meaning you have to kill it twice, first the guy who mounts him, and then him). Take for example the wizard. Look at diamond skin. absorbs 10k damage. neat. with rune, 20k damage. Ah no problem! So the wizard ONLY has to survive 150k damage! should be EAAAAAAAASY! especially, SINCE THERE WILL BE ABOUT 5 MORE OF THESE ON SCREEN AT A TIME! (also we can assume the wizard has 100k hp, which he will most probably not, and he still doesn't stand a chance). ((and even if we factor in armor... lets say enough armor for the wiz to mitigate 50% of the damage, it's still 75k dmg from ONE mob of this type). TL;DR people are going to get owned in inferno so god damn bad, blizzard will need a SLEW of nerfs just to make it playable. mark my words. and WHY? Because blizz decided it's a smart idea to listen to mentally challenged Wow players who declared the game to be too easy after they played the FIRST third of an act on the FIRST of FOUR difficulty levels. I'm not blaming blizzard, but this is what you get for the endless "easy" whine.

i hope you know that blizzard created 3 difficulty levels for raids in WoW just to satisfy it's customers ... and to have them all see the content, all the content -- it's bad business to do a huge game that only 2% of the players can enjoy, while the rest are stuck in not finding the other 24 ppl to play with. It's the same with Diablo3 -- YOU do not have to farm the content on Inferno+Hardcore, the game is not intended to give such "satisfaction" to 99% of the players. They put in 4 levels of difficulty so that my 4yo kid can play the game on normal and finish it (not that she will be allowed until 15yo :P) and that players who "want more" can get "more" .. and "more" ... and "FKIN'MOOORE" ;)

Hello.
@Unckle: I read several of your post lately and I have to admit I really like what you write. Keep up positive critism and help the community. And you really think your dauhghter will play d3? From my experience 9/10 women do not care for games but for boys. So make sure she does not play around with them to early. ;) |

oh man... the open beta was like a "free candy store" for her .. she got some .. but no more :)
.. there was a time when I used to participate at WoW forums ... but as the time passed, more and more "idiots" knew better and I stopped. Since a few weeks ago, since I came to the forums to see what the general public knows about the game (and learn from it) .. I started to see some of the same patterns I used to see in WoW forums ... and probably there won't be long until you will not see me posting :) |

Hello.
Yeah...... I think one most fight this wave of people who act without understanding and with a great amount of ignorance. Not to speak about the rude tone and the disrespect. If they start to make people believe in their bull!@#$ you will not stand a snoball chance in hell to get anything done in a forum. You are alsways welcome to post at the barbarian forum. You get beer, raw meet and an axe as a welcome present. |

I'm probably one of those "rude disrespectful" folks you're talking about ;-) Hopefully some of my points are valid and make people think a bit though, like having an open mind and moving away from the old tunnel visioned FOTM cookie cutter style of thinking and playing.
For me personally I'm an experimenter and while I may waste a lot of time trying things out it's loads of fun and I feel I get more out of games that way. Different play styles, different methods, pushing boundaries. Having said all that, I'm only on forums because it's not the 15th yet ;-) Once the game goes live I figure why spend time typing when you can be playing RARRRRR!!!! |
Hello. Thanks man. I do know I am fairly "pushy" with my thoughts and opinions....I try not to be rude, but i know it sometimes comes out that way. All for the greater good though and my wish to see AWESOMENESS on the 15th!! |
