Ok guys mine is downloaded fine, but my Diablo 3 folder is 10.4GB....is this a problem? Do you have any files in there that end in ".part"? If you do, what's the size of the folder if you remove them? (Don't delete them, just put them somewhere else temporarily.) |

I am stuck at updating setup files. Do you have a solution to this? No. :) Well, not one that I'm 100% sure of, but what the installer is doing when it says "updating the setup files" is to create and write data to the C:\ProgramData\Battle.net folder. It's in a fixed location. It also downloads this data, so it may take a bit. If this folder exists, delete it and try again. Make sure to run the launcher/setup as administrator (right-click on the setup file and select "Run as Administrator"). If it doesn't exist, run the setup in admin mode. Does this fix the problem? Oh, and read this: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4008360977 You may have to turn on a Windows service, too. Give that a whirl too if the above does not work. (Listed under "Trying to run Setup.exe and nothing happens".) Dan, glad that issue was solved! :) I don't think the .part files would have caused any issues, but it's good to have that sorted out!

It means you're fine and everything is all right. :) You can't install the game before tomorrow at 8 AM PST (that's 17:00 CET/Paris time, and 4pm in the UK). There will be a small (according to Blizzard under 100 MB) patch which allows you to decrypt and install the game. The encryption error you got is a glitch that sometimes happens when you press "Install" and it shows you the user license instead of the "fires still falling" message. It's not bad, and your data is fine.

Every time I try to recheck the file size, it's always over 9GB. then I restart the downloader and it restarts the download from 4GB. Downloading it for the 4th time now, and again, it checks up to 4gb then restarts the download, but the folder is over 9gb. this is getting REALLY frustrating, and I even started the download from scratch this morning...
And to think I downloaded it 2 months ago to avoid problems -_-" |

Just guessing, but do you have files in the install folder that end in ".part"? If so, remove them and try again. (Don't delete them for now, just move them elsewhere.) |

I tried that just before posting.. if I do, it starts the whole download from the beginning :(
If I removed them, the file size of the folder was about 3gb... Downloading again, starting from 4 GB. however, before, when I tried to download it I got the "fire still falls"... so when it's done downloading, I'll just cross my fingers and hope it works tomorrow. Thank you for answering in any case!

It may be necessary to download the rest (the missing 4 GB basically). It's possible that the .part files you have got corrupted, or that one (or more) of them cause the problem. Are there any completed versions of the .part files? If so, try to delete the .part files that already have completed versions.
The complete file list should look like this: 05.04.12 03:14 <DIR> Diablo III Setup.app (Dates and times will be different for you.) Edit after reading your edit: Letting the download finish is what I would try first. The above may be worth trying if you have more problems with the download. But for now I'd just let it finish and see what happens. :) Good luck!

Thank you for your kindness.
I will let it finish.. a few more hours then check back here. And if I still have "fire still falls from the sky", I'll just leave it at that, hoping I'll be able to install tomorrow... argh, why did they have to release on a tuesday! O_O I don't want to go to work :| |

You will get the "fire still falling" message even when everything went well! :) But you should have ca. 7.6 GB in that folder without .part files when it all went fine. The "fire still falling" message will only go away when we are allowed to properly install the game (what you download now is what is on the DVD, too), which is tomorrow after 8am PST (17:00 CET, 4pm British time). For the exact expected folder size, see also here: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4008360977 |

Yes I am aware of that :)
The thing is, the loader seemed to give that message even with the wrong folder size so if this download I am doing now should not go well and I do not get the correct folder size, I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best. I have tried downloading it 4 times (5th going now) and never got that folder size, even downloading it from scratch :( EDIT: For example, while I am downloading this very second, I am at 5.20 of 7.60 gb. If I check the folder, the size is 6.96 GB. This is weird.
