At nightmare difficulty, bosses don't give loot. It seems that it is better to just ignore the bosses when possible, skip them, go to another landscape area and ignore the chance to be killed by boss (and that durability loss).
I've heard that blizzard wanted player to stop farming bosses, but now its more like ignoring bosses. As a Cristaline Passage farmer in D2, I liked to do both bosses and thrash clean-up to get some farm, now its just thrash. I'll probably quit that game soon. |

Why would the bosses be using the best items in the game? Do you really think the best items in the game would be kept and used by the leaders(bosses)? You should get your MF gear on and break open though rotten tree stumps to find those legendary items; that is where all the good stuff is kept.

HAH.. Blizzard came out and said that they didn't want people farming bosses?
What a joke! |

All the best items are dropped by the blue/rare groups, not the bosses. And that's much better imo as it's not as easy as just farm 1 boss to get best loot.

Don't change this, it will be cooler now when we have to work to get gear. 8D

I like the fact that bosses don't drop the "best items" anymore.. Makes it more fun and challenging than constantly farming the same boss over and over. :P

Wrong. Blizzard wanted players to stop farming the SAME bosses over and over again. They want players to farm all bosses, not just a few ones ( Meph / Pindleskin / Diablo / Baal ) |

No? Guess you are not looking hard enough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3NkFxpb4hI BlizzCon 2011 - Diablo III: 49:28 "Rares and Champions are really gonna be the best loot in the game. But one of the things we are trying to avoid in Diablo III is, uhm, boss runs were fun in Diablo II, but they got monotonous after a while. So we are really trying to find ways to get you to focus on randomize content, as the way to get the best loot. And this is gonna be an ongoing problem, something we're gonna continue to be looking at, even after diablo III shifts." So again, they never said people should stop farming bosses. They just want people to focus on "randomize content" instead of the same 4 bosses, simply because it's more fun. They want D3 to be way more luck based compared to D2.

I just got to a1 hell so i can't say much about the real endgame farming but I would rather farm 3-4 bosses over and over instead of killing champions with unfair combinations. Some stuff like Vortex/Molten/Waller is just plain ridiculous ... I can't imagine anyone could find those guys "more fun".

I like it as it is now. Been farming dia/meph/ps/baal thousands of times over the years. It just turned into a tele+bot fest. I rather having a challenge and continually see all aspects of the game, instrad of mindlessly farming the same poor boss over and over.
The game have been out only a few days and the people who have rushed through are already complaining and this and that. They have farmed only few hours, have no mf and are still not even farming that fast. Besides that, there are also new ways to attain new items, but most people on these forums seem to forget that. Use the blacksmithing and ah. It might just be worth it ! |
