I also now have the mobile authenticator.

None of those AVs etc. would be any use if they obtained your details through some other means like compromised websites, forums or games, of via really convincing phishing e-mails.
An authenticator (physical or mobile app), would have.

On the account page of battle net, when you try to change your password.

Paste has been disabled, a LOT of people do paste their password since the keylogger (should they have one) will just log CTRL + V or a right click + left click

So being FORCED to TYPE your password is not all that secure
I am aware that they can get your copy paste clipboard aswell, however should you be that badly infected.... you deserve it then

Paste is likely disabled so people don't end up typing it wrong the first time, pasting that and then setting it to something they don't actually know. Given as you say malware & keyloggers can easily access your clipboard too, it doesn't really mean it is less secure being forced to type in your pass.

Which would you rather: that the intruders know your password and you don't, meaning it'll take longer to get your account back if you're online when they're in there;
or you both know your password but you can easily get back in and change it if you're online when they're in there? :)

it wont be long before someone makes an app for d3. lots of folks need authenticators and don't have smartphones. be really smart and careful until you can get one or buck up and buy the keyfob one.

i dont know if there is any advice on the forums about this but i just found a intresting video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=8NUQTATy5dc

in this video this guy markeeddragon intervieuws a botter and this botter explains a lot about how everything works. basicly your computer is mostly not infected by a virus. most accounts get hacked because ppl use the same login and password on other games/forums that are easily hacked. So if you want to reduce the chance that your account gets compromised get a authenticator and give your account a unique password.
