Hello everyone,
what do you thik about his idea? Wouldn't be nice if gems (laying on the ground) have their specific colour of highlight text? (like runes in latest patch in D2 LoD). You know what I mean, magic items are blue, rare are yellow etc. and gems could be red or something. It could help to see them between many of common items, gold and potions. |
|
the drop rate on gems at this stage is so high that it doesnt matter anymore unless your playing either Hell whymshire or inferno mode and you find a perfect square which is the highest level of gem that drops.
these alone only sell for 3-5k. changing their text color is pointless now. however, reducing their drop rate by 75% would be a LOT more beneficial. it would increase the prices of them in the AH to a point where they are sellable again. once thats done, then change their text color. |

ok thanks for informations, I am on the first difficulty so far, so I don't know about drop rate. But now I agree with you ;-)

Hello everyone, This is actually something we are planning on doing :-) The colour of the ground text on gems will be changed from white to light blue, which will make gems stand out more from gold drops and other common item drops. We also plan to change the ground text colour on potions, pages of training, and tomes. |

What about legendary items? Certain zones almost make them invisible. http://i.imgur.com/XYLiC.jpg

Another blue, it's blue friday ^^

That's what few of us were talking about...
D2 LoD had those various color for loot to rapidly check/know what was dropped. D3 held back this "feature" from the beginning although it was successfully implemented in D2... why the fudge?! Obviously it will take at least 2 years to improve D3 to a level LoD was improved over the years ... why not use that "old" knowledge .... OH EM GEE guys... |

Are you colorblind cuz i can see this perfectly. |
|

I can see that perfectly well too. Its not an ideal colour choice though in all fairness. |

They should omit a glow on the floor imo, like a beam of light shining up from them. Bit like they use in Borderlands.

They should omit a glow on the floor imo, like a beam of light shining up from them. Bit like they use in Borderlands. And why not? |

They should omit a glow on the floor imo, like a beam of light shining up from them. Bit like they use in Borderlands. Looks too much like a wretched arcane laser for my liking.

Haha true...however it's 1 way of making them more visible. Personally I don't have much trouble seeing them (mainly because I never fine them) but I suppose making them more 'orange' rather than brown would be a start.

You can pretend you see it perfectly while looking at a static screenshot all you want. But when you're in the game and you don't expect to see a legendary drop after every mob you will likely miss it. |

We have no immediate plans for changing the ground text colour of legendary items, but that is not the same as it might not happen at all though. It is something we are keeping an eye on for sure :-) |

Are you thinking of changing the gems system?Gems now don't leave the economy and it's only a matter of time when there is so much gems that they will be worthless and people won't pick them up from the ground.

Its a good thing though to change it. Cuz I see legendaries drop daily...
