Well you could start an entirely separate thread on the arrogance of game companies these days.

If you bought a new car and upon getting it home realised something didn't work, the car company would at great expense to themselves immediately offer to fix it free of charge, or if there was a problem with an entire series of them, immediately call for a recall of the product.

Game companies consistently infuriate their customers by not delivering on promises or by providing some of the worst customer service support you have ever been witness to in your life, and yet they get away with it. Why is this? It's becoming a frankly problematic paradox for which I can't see a fix.

Perhaps the only way to do it would be to boycott the game, as was suggested about Mass Effect 3 based on the appalling misuse of DLC & story ending they supplied. But this will never work because people will always buy it because they still want to play the game, even if the developing company has grossly abused their position.

A boycott won't get us any further. It remains we have paid for a product that isn't working properly. According to the law in my country I am entitled to compensation if the company that made the product does not solve the issue.

Hopefully it will get fixed this week. I find it pretty hilarious that it works on my laptop but doesn't work on my main computer.

Well, as much as I don't like the situation, I must say that I explained this problems of the game and Blizzard has refund my money without questioning me. That's at least a good answer for me, maybe when the game is not in the beta (because is still on beta...) I would reconsider the situation.

good luck and I hope you can enjoy the game in the near future

When it comes to making game changes, in general, our intent is to react quickly to critical design and balance issues, bugs, and other problems that seriously conflict with our design intent through hotfixes. For issues which aren’t as severely out of line, we plan to react in a more measured fashion -- through client patches. We have a patch coming within the next week (patch 1.0.2) that has been in development since the game’s launch and is mainly aimed at addressing service issues. The first real game balance changes, outside of hotfixes, will be coming in patch 1.0.3. We expect that because the game is new, some other issues will arise that will need to be immediately addressed through hotfixes, but in general, most changes will arrive through patches.

This better mean what I hope it means, I expect this to be fixed this week. Can anyone from Blizzard confirm this includes the issue adressed in this thread?

NELSON: I do not normally feed the youngins, but your question is too misguidedly uninformed, beliigerent, and asinine to leave unattended.

Why are you so frightened by a user preference? Per your logic, we should all dress the same, drive the same model of car, etc ...

Give my regards Mao; we do not operate that way in freer societies.

By the way ...yours was one of the only "whiny" looking posts IMO.

The biggest performance issue of Diablo 3 is that it runs on a Mac

Has nothing to do with this. First of all, the server region has practically nothing to do with FPS, but as many have stated before, playing on the same hardware on the same servers under Windows provides a lot better performance.

The installer is same, regardless of the OS you download it to - there are both .app and .exe installers included in both. I downloaded OSX version myself, but also installed D3 to W7 from the very same files. Download from Battle.Net Account Management.

So there's a new patch, but that still doesn't change anything for mac users... Can you at least give us some information as to when we can FINALLY play this game?
