I laughed, far more than would have been appropriate.
I agree, I don't get the people who would rather have quiet and forgettable powerhouses in their gameplay. I'd rather smile every once in a while over the companions conversations than watch a silent, characterless templar kill a champ pack for me while i stand back and whine on the forums.
well - i do like the scoundrel as a matter of fact, but the templar make me want to kill him.
its just like that ... you meet an elite spawn, you struggle, you die, you kite, you fight, you die a bit more.... 7 deaths later, you finally beat them - paying over 10.000 gold for repairs, having looted 1 or 2 blue items.
and THEN the templar says :"can we get more of these?!!"
at that point, i d love to feed him to Ghom .. after all, he is the one who is always being ignored by any monster - and the only time he actually suffers is if he stands in some pool of acid.
but yea - if you think of it like your comic strip, he is like a personal cheerleader, all along with the "brainless perk"

"I do not understand how evil is able to walk during the day, should it not fear the light?" "Perhaps the sun is neutral" "But the light is both a literal and figurative foe of evil" It's a light touch, but I've found the dialogue between the Templar and my Wizard has really created a great atmosphere during the game most of the time. They disagree on some things, but are always civil and they have a mutual respect for one another.
