I tried playing again yesterday, only to experience MASSIVE rubber banding. I'm not talking "Uh oh, I just got rubber banded back into some fire chains"... I'm talking my character takes 10 steps forward and gets bounced back 8 steps. CONSTANTLY. This happened for the entire 10 minutes I was trying to play, after which I gave up. It might not be so bad on new characters, but I'm trying to gear up my witch doctor through hell right now, and the amount of rubber banding is making it impossible.
As a note, Aside from disconnect and actual lag, the game played MUCH better for the first few weeks after launch. As everything else started to seem to get better, the rubber banding got worse. It's at the point now where it's pretty much unplayable. It's funny, but you'd think a 13 hour long maintenance would give time to fix such a game breaking problem... (and yes, I've tried all the troubleshooting tips on my end.) |

yea for me it has been getting worse i think too, i'm back trying things to improve it but it's only making it worse.
again i have already done the following fixes: NVidia Card: all settings have been optimized for the game. - threaded optimization - OFF - Optical Occlusion - Off Game: - Running off USB 3.0 - Settings to Minumim. Game itself runs fine now, depending on what setting i play with the frame rate stabily rises or drops, the issue really is whenever i get any abilies that are being cast by elites... it will stutter and rubberband if any effects are on me particularly fire chains/desecrator, but it really happens whenever i'm surrounded like "group vortex"

I have been having Rubberbanding issues from the release until now and I did not experience any change after patches.
It is happening throughout all classes and not bound to using certain skills which increase movement speed in any way - most of the times I was just walking. 2.66GHz i7 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GT330M (512 MB) (always using ^^, never onboard gfx) MacOS 10.6.8 Fullscreen (1280x600) on 2nd Monitor max foreground fps: 150 max background fps: 8 antialiasing: on lowFX: on Shadows: low(smooth) texture quality: low physics: low clutter density: low brand new router just sent by ISP, not having any connection dropouts |

Experiencing massive rubberbanding and I sometimes get random DCs which are infuriating as I usually just get my 5 stacks of NV.
The DCs are not on my side as every other program/service is running normaly. When I get DC'd I can't resume, to fix this I have to relog to play again. I've opened a ticket with a tracer file attached to it. I hope you can get this fixed soon as this is making it unplayable. Edit: Also, thanks for keeping us updated, it's really appreciated.

rubber banding has improved significantly for me and is now tolerable to ok/good. Happens maybe once an hour, still really annoying when it does and you die from it but i can deal with it. It was at like 10 times an hour at one stage! And once an hour - yeah ok i get it, running a server and keeping time is pretty tough, its gonna happen... ill take this as sorted for me.
Massive lag spikes also seem to be much much much better and i dont get them often. Even rarer than rubber banding say once every 5 hours or less... again i can deal - not a problem Main issue now these are sorted is back to the old stuttering for me - this makes the game annoying. Second issue is Mass FPS drops when theres looooooads of enemies. My rig should be able to handle it and i myself can handle the pain somewhat i guess, its not a massively big deal just everything a bit jerky and horrid looking but not sure if this is assett loading which also needs fixing. But im pleased improvements have been made - keep going, i wanna play smooth as silk! :) |

that's what i think i found
regarding a WW barb i think that it sometimes happens when i try to use whirlwind not having enough fury so while i try to move with whirlwind, the server also tries to move me, but after that, well, he realizes that i don't have enough fury to do it so may be it's some missynchronization of "move player to XX" and "check if player has enough fury" procedures i also think it's the same with monk's tempest rush when i try to use it not having enough spirit |

I have this issue as well. However, I do not experience 3-10 second rubberbands. I experience the game as if I was playing it from a dial-up modem, constant rubberbanding while I'm trying to use my skills with my monk. (I have 100 ms)
For example, when fighting elites, if I just run around and kite them, I get no lag/rubberband. However, once I start fighting them, I quickly die if there are desecration/arcane sentry/frozen because I just can't escape during combat, my character keeps rubberbanding to the same spot and fighting the elites. Tried it with both FoT and Deadly Reach, same deal. I get the feeling that the character is unable to stop the attack animation until it completes the 3 hit cycle. For example if I get a health globe during fights, even my health goes up by rubberbanding. It also stops when serenity is active and I'm invulnerable. EDIT: I just realized that my rubberbanding significantly increases with slower weapons.

I have been having the rubberband syndrome happen to me a lot. I wonder if it's because bettle.net is just laggy overall? I wonder if you pump more juice into WoW than other games and therefore any lag and related issues are because of that? When I play, my average latency is 500-750ms and it goes often down to 1000-1500 even. It's almost never green but when it is, it's still at 350-500... I would say that there's something wrong with the servers. And because this isn't a game that requires monthly subscriptions, not as much work is being put into this facet of Blizzard.
It's only a speculation of course but a valid one until an admin hangs me for it :) Also, this game is unplayable for mac users as it is. I am running on: Model Name: iMac Model Identifier: iMac11,3 Processor Name: Intel Core i3 Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 4 GB Processor Interconnect Speed: 5.86 GT/s Boot ROM Version: IM112.0057.B00 SMC Version (system): 1.59f2 Hardware UUID: C2427808-E6D3-5184-AE7B-2BDB341E0EF0 --- Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5670 Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x68c0 Revision ID: 0x0000 ROM Revision: 113-B9850K-133 EFI Driver Version: 01.00.416 --- System Version: Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) Kernel Version: Darwin 10.8.0 And the game is installed on the Mac hard disk.

I still get the issue as of about 12 hours ago, actually a bit worse if anything though i was logged on for around16 hours before that so will chack back tonight.
I use the skill - Srint - Run Like The Wind. Also i have a bug, when i am in the process of healing, most notibly the templar healing me, if i use run like the wind there are no tornado's that come off me. i think this bug may effect other thning like enemy skills as sometimes it weas not happening with Seige Breaker, but definitely when the templar heals me it stops the rune from activating. |

Lost my first HC char to a rubber band + snakes. There were 2 much smaller rubber bands before the fatal one, it was also coop. I guess ill have to outgear the content + a rubber band, and avoid coop play, what a let down. At this point id rather have an offline only game until they can fix their stuff/pvp.

i have 32ms all the time with 15 mbit connection 1 mbit up.
no other network aplications using up bandwith i suffer ruber banding sometimes. It mostly effected by how many monsters i pull , and skip the more i skip the more i ruber band. If i pull 3 4 instances full off monsters , I'll ruber band endlessly in a loop. Like seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzUSCIDPX0g Ofc i do not skip this much anymore but this proofs what cause's the ruber banding and probably also out off sync disconnects. my system is a i7 920 @ 3.8 ghz watercooled gtx 480 sc at stock watercooled 3x 2 gb ram @ 1604 speeds ddr3 9-9-9-24-1t corsair f120 diablo 3 also installed on my SSD so their no lag comming from my computer at all or my connection. Usualy ruber banding is rare but it happends once in a while, Because i often somehow manage to agro stuff and not kill it, Each time this happends their more bandwith required which servers somehow cant provide, Or perhaps its due to much server load i dont known. |

It's been called rubberbanding for a long time in games Offender.
I have this issue since i started using sprint with my barb and after some testing i find out that when i click sprint and attack a mob at same time i almost ALWAYS get rubberbanded back if i move right after that. Apart from that sprint overall rubberbands at random times. Without sprint i've never had it. |
