Im trying to build MF gear for Act 3 that is good enough to not die at ALL!! and not have to switch to MF just keep farming with it on.

Can anyone show me their MF gear set up that had 40k hp and 30k DPS + 500 AR unbuffed and 230+ MF unbufffed?

Would like to know how much it costs ._. thanks

Also willing to buy a set like that!

OK - that lot probably costs billions or several 000 euros and even then I guess it would have taken a while to find on the AHs.

My current mf set which im farming act 3 with ease, I'v wrote down how much each piece cost too, i swapped out a few pieces of mf i had for some better pieces like the rings and bracers:

My stats are slightly different to yours as im running a lifesteal build so str and resist is far greater for me than vit.

Edit: so all in all it cost me around 50m, but got lucky with the weapon drop and the bracer craft and yes i know i overpaid for the helm but at the time it was the only one on that had mf/socket/crit/high all res.

How long ago did you buy that lot? - prices seem well below what I usually see now.

Its taken a few weeks just looking through the ah for good deals, the only impulse buy was the helm, everything else i just took my time like the axe i got for 5m yesterday, been looking for 4 days for a decent affordable lifesteal weapon to replace my old one.

Ive looking over the AHs for the past couple of week and found nothing at all at even vaguely reasonable prices - seems to have gone even more insane in the last week. Even my pozy weapons that I paid a few mil for a couple of weeks ago are asking close to 100M now.

About all ive been to find are some ultra-cheapy things to experiment with some other stats with before committing 10-20M to a good specimen should one come up :)

Yeh like i said, been gearing up slowly (since about a week after easy mode patch as I was loh tank with high res, low dmg before, the really tanky ring with no str I'v had since 3 weeks after release) so theres a few pieces that i bought that I have since upgraded and resold the old ones, mostly got all the gold back on my past pieces though, I never dropped down to act 1, but i have been farming act 2 for awhile and only this last week have i been farming act 3.

It just takes time, if you looked to upgrade all pieces in a matter of days you would be looking at alot to make yourself high mf and viable for speed runs in act 3, unless you run ww spec, even then that spec is starting to get expensive now and its also making my spec expensive as I have been looking for a mighty belt for weeks with lifesteal/str/all res/magic find/frenzy or bash damage and only now am i realising i will probably be looking to pay in the vacinity of 100m for all them stats lol, which I won't spend more than 20m on a piece, most i spent on a piece was 8m on a ring until i got the helm and pants recently, which was funded by getting some good rng on my bracer crafts.

Im mostly playing dual wield WW at the mo... like I said - lucky I got at least useful weapons before it went mad in the last week.

And yes - starting to think about a slow upgrade to MF gear now that I think Im more or less settled on reasonable a3 farming stats (just want a little more dps and much more vit on some core items) - not in any hurry though.

LOL at the belt - I was experimenting with a 'cheapy' LS belt - well it cost about a mil, so not that cheapy, but vs the kind of thing Im looking for - Ugh!!!

And thats the other reason I want more vit elsewhere ;)

Btw who is Zrave? OP gear set up he has there

Zrave is an US streamer with good attitude unlike most and often gives gear advices to people for a fee (Also plays on EU sometimes) And does gear-challenges such as he cleaned act3 with 1m budget on a naked barb (On US) and he did some on EU too i believe.

He is also the reason this frenzy/crit combo tanky/dps build is so popular as he showed people how to gear up for it cheap. You can see his many videos on youtube and his stream.

I have MF gear +278 unbuffed with which I can farm act 1 (Act 2 is very very hard) which I bought for an about 6 millions.

This is the part I don't really get.
Is it really worth farming Act1 with high MF compared to Act3 with only NV?
Sure you get a lot of rares (how many per elite usually?) but there are very few ilvl63 among them.

With a bit of napkin math, the chance of ilvl61+ is ~33% in act1 and ~66% in act3. With only NV you get 1.5 rares per elite, so you need ~3 rares/elite in act1 to get the same number of ilvl61+ rares from farming act1. I've never tried so high MF, but will ~350% really yield so many rares/elite on average?

Farming an act easily will always beat struggling no matter which act, I know farming act 2 in full mf beats struggling in act 3 or cruising act 3 with no mf, not sure about act 1 though as the droprates of 62 and 63 are very low.

As for magic find, this doesn't effect how many magical items drop or the ilvl of these items, all it affects is how many props the items that drop have and I know from experience a lvl 62 armour with 6 props 9/10 times will beat a 63 with 4-5, for the greatest chance of godly items though you want to aim for both a high mf % and farming act 3 efficiently.

Exactly, so I prefer to farm act 1 with very high MF (I have +355 buffed) and if I got lvl 63 item I have a higher chance that it will be godlike item. And there are lvl 63 drops. About every 10-15 items I have 1 lvl 63 and 2 lvl 62 items. The problem is that AH killed the loot fun from D2. Everything I get I can find better in AH...

I have read many different things about MF.. is this the truth about MF? :P

idk, maybe its worth getting some MF gear and go farm act 1 instead of act 3 with 5 valor.

Magic find affects the quality of items you acquire from killing enemies (but not treasure chests, vases, weapon racks, or other environmental objects). It doesn’t give you a chance to get more items on a given kill.
