Mobile authenticator and forum

If I authenticate in game, then server has my IP address, why I need to authenticate again in forum?

Lazy programmers :)

Reminds me of the countless times you ring up a call centre and they ask you your phone number, well, its the one I'm ringing from duh!

Except, their equipment can never tell them that, oh no, no one thought of that useful thing!

Yes yes.. Please do it from some home network where your BRAH can come and state on your "authenticated cuz ip you know bla bla" say how gay you are (you know the bros jokes).
Or better yet do it from some big lanparty, where server knows your NAT server address so rest of hundreds of people can have soem posting fun on your behalf..

If you dont know !@#$ dont put that on others.
Thats just a "for a retarded person" kind of explanation and should not be taken as only options why that is not implemented.

The whole point of authenticators is to help prevent unwanted access, not just to your games and account details, but also to the forums. It's not lazy — it's intended.

Well, if I authenticate in D3, I still need to authenticate in WoW. Or SC2. Or forums. Yep, working as intended :)

Internet cafe. Router has 1 ip, 12 computers connected to the router, all have the same ip from Blizz Point of view. Keylogger on one of them, gets your login credentials. Wihthout authenticator they will have direct access to your account.
understand now ?

How about posting some !@#$%^- details on how the PVP-patch is coming along, or let us know whats going on with 1.0.4? I'm sick to death with this low-tier gamecompany! You're obviously just refreshing your three latest posts on the frontpage, so it looks like anything is going on.

Absolutely pathetic. Good thing I didn't touch this game since I found DayZ. When ARMA3 comes, I will never touch another Blizzard game again. You effectively just lost a customer with your silent-treatment of your customers. Also tell Jay Wilson to man up and discuss things with the community. It's obviously a communication-strategy to let him hide under a rock untill you get the game sorted out.

Useless mods, posting useless information in useless threads. I would write you 10 pages of detailed suggestions for the PVP/1.0.4 if you had the balls to actually reply/discuss such things. But you don't. Enjoy making your casual game. Most casual game in the past 20 years. Congratulations. Even a monkey could complete the storyline on normal mode.

Horrible.

The thread is about the forums asking for authenticator every time. Which is indeed the dev's fault. Or you think someone might break into our houses and log into our accounts!? oh no

troll CM pls ban from forums - he's completely off topic

If I exit from Diablo 3 and go home from internet cafe. Some one start game and enter my username and password system will not ask for mobile authenticator code.

So no protection in internet cafe, still work as intended ?

I'm sure it's simply because your bnet account is much more important than your in-game account,if they log-in to your game account, the most they can do is rob you of all your items/money.If they gain access to your bnet account they can do much more including spending your RL money if you have a bnet balance.

That's why you have an option(whenever you attach an authenticator)to authenticate on every log-in regardless of Ip.

it is fine that you want to protect the users with authenticator especially now when RMAH is involved but it is NOT fine that i have to constantly input authenticator code every day (even worse for the forums) even though i unchecked the box that says 'Require the authenticator code every time you log into the game'.

Make it once a week like it says in the info and only if i login from a different IP should it ask me to input the code again in that one weeks time.

You make it sound as if you have to spend hours to authenticate your account,it's just a simple 8 digit number.

That's like you would complain every time you have to call somebody.Even though you don't have to type in the digits anymore, you have to unlock your phone,go to adress book, select the one you want to call and then press call....

Inb4 someone calls me a fanbboy, look at my profile.

Your lucky, with my internet going up and down like a yoyo, its a dozen or more times a day for me!

I wonder how long the battery lasts in this thing..

Options of course as always would be nice, so you the user can decide if you want it every time, every X hours, once a day, once a week, once a month/etc.

And ideally the little device should have its font twice the size for us older folk, and old fashioned glowing LED's so you can see it in the dark..

But apart from that, its wonderful :-)
