The Diablo III developers have been hard at work on some exciting new features and updates for the game. Many of you have asked for more details, and we're busily preparing several developer blogs filled with information on what's coming in patch 1.0.4. In the meantime, here's an overview of the information we're planning to share here on the Diablo III community site in the not-too-distant future.
Please keep in mind that this list isn't set in stone, but it should provide a useful preview of what we'll be revealing in the days ahead.
We're also planning to run some interviews and developer chats surrounding patch 1.0.4, and we'll be sharing those on the Diablo III front page. Be on the lookout, as we'd love to get you involved in any live chats we host.
As always, your constructive feedback is very much appreciated. Stay tuned for the updates to follow!
Well, that's certainly good news, but what I don't understand is: Why are the devs delaying the patch for 'exciting new features'? Why not release 1.0.4 as a thorough bugfix first, and do the 'exciting new features' in the next patch? Achievements are still not being awarded correctly, some people are having problems with their keybindings not being saved, many reports of invisible/unhittable mobs, the FPS counter isn't working... why don't the devs fix all of those things first before doing new features?
First off, thanks to blizz for posting this update. Everybody has been screaming for some details and updates, so thanks for listening. Looking forward to reading the articles!
Undoubtedly bug fixes should be first. However, bug fixes won't help much if nobody wants to play the game anymore. I think they did the right thing with this patch. Fixed bugs, looked at player feedback, monitored the economy and character builds, and are releasing a patch that addresses what is wrong with the game... not just the minor bugs (FPS counter is not a requirement for being able to enjoy D3).
A dangling carrot is better than no carrot at all.
(If you like carrots that is).
I'm off on holiday for 18 days, I fly tonight. I can guarantee one of two things....
- It will be done in the next 2-3 days (as if to spite me!).
- It will still not be done when I get back from hols on 28th August.
I've still not given up hope for this damn game! Trying (really, really, really) hard to keep the faith. Pull out the stops please Blizzard; make it the game it should have been.
I don't even see how these things register on the charts when exploits, scammers, people running throw away scammer accounts for profit, etc. are rampant. Scripts hacks bots yeah yaddda yadda yadda.
When they use terms like "evolve" for MF and "philosophy" for class changes to sell us on this new patch, I don't have high hopes. I hope I am wrong.
I try to play but I keep rage quitting after a few seconds to a couple of minutes.
Nothing sells in the AH and can't Gold Find enough for new gear /ragequits
Come across a stupid mob with stupid instant death stats /ragequits
Kill 5-10 elite mobs in a row and get nothing over ilvl61 with 350+ MF /ragequits
I think they are keeping hush so that there is no run on MF gear and other regearing items for other classes.
Update: 9.8.12 Killed 10 elite packs in act 3 and nothing greater than 2 ilvl 61 /ragesquits again
Follower stops fighting mobs to hit a Treasure Goblin /RAGEQUITS again
