Diablo® III

I am going to give this a shot on the basic mode. But with the addition of only using the gear I find. Not sure which char. I'll use though. Need to think about that first.

What do you mean with "only using the gear I find" ? restricting crafting as well? Otherwise, the extreme purist edition already limits you to using selffound items only. :-)

Flips, my extreme purist, heath phobic witch doctor is moving through act 1 rather slowly. I added the extra challenge of making it his personal mission to avoid all health globes possible. The only way he actually get health back is when he leaves the game >.<

He is even avoiding the increased gold and health pick up stat to make it easier to dodge them. With so many stats to avoid, it is making item choice very... limited, Flips equipment is suffering as a consequence :(

I am hoping to kill the Skeleton King soon, very cautiously working my way there. :S

I'll definetly give this a try, I just started a new WD (hp mode). It is not that easy to avoid his teleport attack without spiritwalk :o

Haven't you been health globe blocked yet? I can imagine engaging an elite pack in the cathedral levels, having health globes everywhere :D

Never really liked that crafting thing. I did it when I was sc but when I started HC stopped with that all together. So, it's something extra for me ;) Just did my first quest on this. It's hard to avoid health globes. Got killed in the first pack in the cathedral level 1. But I like the challenge.

I never really bothered about crafting as well, but I find it a really enjoyable experience during these challenges. You might want to give it a new shot ;-)

For the record: during the Health Phobia mode you are allowed to heal up with Health Globes :), if you want to run a super insane version of it, follow Nakatoir's rules: No health globe healing, no increased pickup range

I have not really encountered a situation like this just yet. If a number of health globes are blocking our way, Flips could try hugging a wall if he felt he could safely dodge them. Both Flips and I would feel bad if we actually did pick one up, though :(

I really hope you record your battle against the Skeleton King. I'm pretty sure it's going to be very amusing to watch, dodging all those health globes while chased down by the Mad King. I beg you to record. ^^

Okay. ell sometimes I needed to use the healthglobe anyway when I wanted to ;pickup a nice item close to it. Maybe i will craft something along the way. But it won't be my first choice. I liked the3 lvl 29 weapon when I built up my sc char. (which was the last thing I ever crafted ;). Survied the cain quest this time.

I was wondering how you were faring with the challenge, nice to see you added some extra difficulty!

I will be able to get back in action later today, just saved my hardware from overheating so had to make a few modifications(new cpufan & graphics card) so I'm not going to stress my system just yet.

And I thought the Health Phobia way was extreme enough already, good Lord! o_@

I'm sure Flips curses every Elite with the Vortex affix to the Unformed Land each time he's being pulled into those "evil" globes, hehe :)

Recorded the butcher with gamebooster. only 46MB so it was uploaded in no time. but no sound and bad quality.. :/ i will change the settings and hopefully do it right for the next fight.
The vids of the other fights are several gb (fraps), but they will follow soon!

edit: The othe two videos I recorded with fraps have good quality and sound. I think I will stick to fraps, didn't take long to convert to .wmv and upload that to youtube.

Hmm might have to give Gamebooster a shot then as Fraps is really consuming diskspace faster than my newsgr.. euh.. other programs ^^
