Alternative speed-farming build?

Hi there,

Anyone knows a build that can be as fast as the WW build in farming? I was never into having the same build as everyone, but I would like having a good build in terms of efficiency.

With my current build I can do a full act 3 run in ~ 2 hours and the so-called "Alkaizer run" in 35 minutes.

Note that the only creatures that can kill me ar the succubi, because of the defense curse and the explosive thingies.

Change leap for sprint - run like the wind, and you have your speedfarm right there. :) rend is as powerful, if not more, as whirlwind. :)

Now for farm it's better WW...but 2h really more fun..

I wait 1.0.5 patch before spending money on gear...

Can I suggest you to look at my 2h build...I tried several 2h build (also your) and I find this more fun and effective (m0re 1 milion crit with wotb and hota and also more 600K sometimes without wottb but just hota, and I have rend and leap for survability)...you have to use it well however..

Killing Azmodan in seconds...

(if you find my rpofile with WW build u can look at that build farmin act 3 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLb17UzcGek it's not me..but same build only nerves of steel instead of superstion)

Any build that involves having to individually move to and kill monsters is going to be very slow relative to ww build for farming.

The nearest are throw builds (keeping sprint) for high dps players - ie where you dps is high end for sprint run like the wind to kill trash anyway. Throw build then gain from being ranged, meaning you down have to chase monsters around.

Otherwise, your still using battle rage into the fray, sprint and WoTB (insanity for throw) for you fury, movement and trash killing and for elite killing respectively.

I personally dont think throw build work very well without special gear for them and high damage (>100K dps), just because there comes a point where you start to one shot trash (initially with crits, then eventually with nearly any hit) and then everything changes.

Until then, nothing even slightly compares to ww builds for quick killing and allowing you to get away with glass cannon gear. Throw build also allow you to get away with glass cannon gear, but with richochet, they are effective in melee as well if you can tank elites etc.

Well said. I agree with everything here and use both ww (full IK set) and throw with maras, skull grasp and lamentation belt to reduce the throw cost to ONE fury! I keep the sprint farts etc and just swap out ww for ignore pain - is a little slower than ww - but i don't miss any green or legendary drops! Also better dps technically as it's more crit based and I have a tasty 300th spear with +48% throw dmg and a socket for 90% crit gem : - )

you could up your dmg so much more by just swapping a few items.

gaunts with crit and crit dmg and a lil lower AR are actually pretty cheap

the amulet can be swapped too for something with cd, cr and str + vit

same goes for your yellow ring, i assume you want to keep the block chance high

and why dont you have any pickup radius items playing with s&b thats not really optimal getting 1 or 2 items with pickup going from 7 -14 yards will make your life so much easier

you got 57 k dps logged out with battle rage on, thats pretty low atm and is prolly a reason why things take a lil longer for you
