Hardcore Characters and Account Rollbacks Update

With the release of patch 1.0.7, we will no longer be reviving or undeleting Hardcore characters as part of an account rollback. This adjustment to our rollback service is being done for two reasons:

1) Hardcore characters were never intended to be revived or undeleted by an account rollback. Bringing Hardcore characters back to life via rollback really isn’t in the spirit of Hardcore (where death is permanent, no matter the circumstances); however, when we originally adapted our rollback services for Diablo III, we didn’t have the technology to make Hardcore characters exempt. We’ve wanted to bring our rollback policies regarding Hardcore characters in line with the game for a while, and as of patch 1.0.7 we will have the tools to do so.

2) In recent months, we’ve discovered that some players who’ve lost Hardcore characters through normal gameplay will fake an account compromise and request a rollback through Customer Support in order to get their characters revived. Not only is this an abuse of the services we provide to the community, but it also impacts other players who have submitted legitimate inquiries by increasing wait times across the board.

Patch 1.0.7 is currently scheduled to release on Wednesday in all regions. For more information about our restoration and rollback policies for Diablo III, please view the following Support articles:

oh, most hc gamers try revive there characters, because they didn't see they own death -__-
dc die is stupid die!
Good call, we don't need those suckers to abuse the system. They should stick to p@ssycore instead if they can't handle loosing a character. Completely defeats HC play in the first place if you cry for a rollback.

But honestly, D3 has seen such a number of exploits happening...
Amongst the most frequently requested things (pre release) were dupe fixes / kill botting / account security / etc.
When is this stuff finally gonna happen. First of all make authenticators compulsory for all players. It should be included in the box and no digital copy. This is a loot based game, you're asking for scum to try and compromise accounts. Then, with all players being fully responsible for their account, stop doing rollbacks all together. Should free up some people that can be put on killing bots instead :)

That's my 2 cents thrown in
Just adopt the PoE technique and move any char that died from HC to SC. This way if you were in case of disconnect, grief or whatever you can still play your char in SC, will at least save your work. It still keeps hardcore hardcore and gives you some comfort if you were in a case of troll death (vote kick) or dc death.
