Rogues

Hunter
You can generally use disengage whenever, just save scatter global for the shadowstep. Might be safer to FD and scatter since its off gcd.

Other than that you just need Glyph of Concussive Shot. If it misses on evasion use chimera, if its on cd use multishot. They're less effective but the cd on conc shot isn't too long.

Also if he vanishes right next to you just shadowmeld and hope you immune their opener.

you wanna save trinket for blind.

no

Edit: Also remember not to use Trinket on any stun. Save it for Blind so that he wont get to reset in case you've forgotten to mark him.

Exactly the opposite... Don't blow trinket on blind, that's what he wants. save trinket, for the kidney of second shadow dance.

NEVER BLOW TRINKET ON BLIND, you have you're pet to keep him from resetting, and even if he does reset, it's better then dieing in the next shadow-dance.

P.S. dismiss pet during deterrence, and call pet, when he's cc'ed in some form, or, if he's good he'll one shot it, due to pet health BUG

Coming from someone who plays both a hunter and rogue actively; the most efficient and annoying way to stop a rogue, use Bad Manner (Monkey) right before the Cheap Shot ends. Roar of Sacrifise when you are kidneyd. Don't waste your disengage unless their shadowstep is on cooldown.

This sounds almost identicle to that video ^^
also use this

http://www.wowhead.com/spell=19885

it doesnt' show up in your spellbook, use tracking menu near minimap to turn it on.

i managed to pvp for 3 months without it - thought blizz removed it. silly me.

That's what monkey stun and roar of sac is there for.

They are not enough.. the rogue can still get you in a stun lock, and dump a lot of dmg, even outside the shadow dance.

Monkey blind lasts 4 sec.. same as he's cheep shot... if you use it when he opes.... he'll still be able to Kidney shot you after, and dump 4 sec of dmg.

Trinket-ing the blind helps you with nothing .. He's not damaging you , he won't reset (since you put hunter's mark and you're pet on him) so waiting for him to brake the blind is a lot better. If he uses CloS to reset, during the blind... he won't have combat readiness, adn you'll have you're trinket for the opener.

The video posted above explains this well...

he wont be able to kidney you after if you wait 1 sec before you monkey stun him (he has gcd during this time anyway so no incoming damage)

and even if he gets you in a kidney after that it'd be like 1-2 second long
Don't trinket a blind like on other classes against a rogue, you might die in a full kidney if you don't have RoS up without trinketing it and your pet can keep the rogue on combat.
I always save my trinket for blinds. I have Monkey blinds, RoS, Intervene, Bestial Wrath if BM and what not for the Kidneys. But yeah, do whatever works for you.

Have a nice evening,
Lovelylady/Wobblez.
I used to play a Hunter like you. But then i re rolled a DK.
O LUW hunters :D its fun how bliz ruin hunters in cata
Never really have trouble with rogues. Just use your traps effectively, use bad manner to avoid the kidney shot after cheap shot, have something ready for the SHS (scatter, disengage) Master's call the snares away and keep kiting like a mofo. RoS if he gets you in a good stun, and you should be fine.

If you know he's coming start off in camo to avoid the sap. Never trinket the blind, what's he going to do, restealth? You have your pet to avoid that. Instead save trinket for a stun.

Also;

FLAREFLAREFLAREFLAREFLAREFLAREFLAREEEEEEEEE

Glyph of Conc shot works wonders during their sprint.
Spec survival and make sure to use your AoE traps (explosive trap and Ice trap). Speced right, you should be able to blow a rogue down with little effort. Um, also provided you use your shots right. Use a spider pet, or any pet that can stun/snare.

Kite the rogue to hell and use camouflage to avoid shadowstep (feign death or something to exit combat). Traps do not break camouflage, but they can be disarmed, so make sure to plant them tight and keep the rogue from them with a well placed flare.

Remember that flare is USELESS to get the rogue itself, even if you get a lucky shot with it. Rogues can reach you beyond flare to sap you, and if they act fast enough, they can even enter flare in stealth and throw cheap shot or garrote on you.

Disarm pet can be nice too, but that means the pet needs to be close, hence spiders are more viable vs rogues as the snare has a decent range. Range is, by all means, what hunter should be all about anyway.

Spec survival

No.

Doesn't work, and it's just an absurd suggestion even if it did.

Traps do not break camouflage, but they can be disarmed, so make sure to plant them tight and keep the rogue from them with a well placed flare.

Honestly, why? The rogue can see the traps, if you put them down while he is still in stealth there is NO reason why he would walk into them.

Besides, the range on disarm trap is so large that he can easily do it from outside the flare's range.

Remember that flare is USELESS to get the rogue itself

What is this, I don't even...

Disarm pet can be nice too, but that means the pet needs to be close, hence spiders are more viable vs rogues as the snare has a decent range.

Dismiss pet has unlimited range. Spiders don't have a snare, they have a root.

Your suggestions are absurd, poorly informed and just wrong. Have you ever even played a hunter?
I actually made a video on this.
