AchieveCraft 8 – Shock 'n' Awe
In this series of StarCraft II blog articles, we will explore some of the more challenging and unusual StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty solo play achievements.
The mission Supernova takes place on Typhon XI, where the Tal’darim are well-established in position around a component of a Xel’naga device that Raynor’s Raiders have been hired to procure by any means necessary. Things take a turn for the worst when it becomes clear that the nearest star is about to go nova. As if Typhon XI wasn’t already dangerous enough, huge firestorms sear the landscape and the Raiders have mere hours to complete the mission before stellar destruction.
While a massive sea of flame advances toward you from the left side of the map, the Shock ‘n’ Awe achievement requires that you destroy 75 units or structures with cloaked Banshees on hard difficulty.
Don’t dismay! This is feasible. It is just going to take careful planning, the right execution, and a monstrous amount of flame-resistant materials. Bring sports drinks.

on topic: the achievement was easy to get. u build a couple of banshes in the start and start destroying the units and buldings at the closest 2 protoss relics and at the northern base and killing the units that attack ur base. i got the achievement while attacking the small base south of the main protoss base
It is actaly very easy. Just make some banshees, take second base in the down right, then again do the same (and again second base in down right). And then just fly all your buildings and banshees in the right corner and wait for fire wave to come. When it finishes almost all protoss base, just attack that thing with all your banshees and you'll win.
Thanks, it was one of the few achievements i have not gotten yet :D. when i read this i went to do it quickly.
Mission on brutal also isn't so hard unless one is trying to complete it with aerial units only. Especially w/o combined reactor (Z).
try in team games Mutas+ Medivac......
I did this because i didn't yet have vikings i could use for this, also vikings and siege tanks is a good combo! Hope this can help you!
Made it though, I think ShogunCZ's tactic is best, but I used both banshees and vikings and massed them whenever I could. Banshees at start to kill all protoss ground units and vikings when those pesky protoss anti-aor flyers came in.
Worked like a charm.
