Season 3 Begins

The third StarCraft II League season has begun! Bonus pools and standings have been reset, and Season 2 milestones have been awarded. To see your Season 2 results, simply hop in-game and head on over to the Leagues and Ladders section.

The launch of Season 3 also brings 10 new maps to the ladder pool. You can learn more about these new maps here. For a full list of ladder pool changes, check out this blog post.

Don't forget: The hidden skill ratings used for matchmaking and league placement have carried over, so that means if you were already placed in a league prior to the Season 2 lock, you'll only need to play one placement match to kick off the new season.

I dont get it, in the matchmakings I played againts a bunch of noobs and won 4 out of 5 now I'm in the platinum leauge but I get my !@# kicked in every game, and still im in this league and dont loose any points when I loose.. ffs, this system dosen't work

This is something that i don't understand: if u win against someone and u win easy, so why am i in Bronze now? i just dont understand that! OMG i hate this season placementmatch!!

I do not understand how the ranking works in regards to team selection.. If i am in bronze don't I play against bronze players? I'm still new to this but im not too bad, but it just seems as if I'm always teamed up with stupid loosers and most of the time im up against really good players! Usually play 4v4. Any thoughts?

Well in bronze league you only need to loose one game, and you're promoted in silver. Yes, play and loose only one game you make a promotion, lol!

Hmm... I *was* in Gold, placed 7th in my division. Played the 3rd season placement match today, won it easily, and now I'm 51st in bronze?

Makes me wonder what would have happened if I'd lost it..

Cheers...then how can we get the Hot Shot achievement?Because when I started the starcraft 2 (the whole starcraft universe) i was a newbie and no chance to get it with starting skills...so I can never have a chance to get it?...

@Pusi: You can always get it through Team Leagues. Going 5-0 in placement matches for a new team should give you the achievement as well.

@Pusi: You can get it from the team leagues. Got Hot Shot with 3v3 - won all our placement matches, ended up in Diamond. (Season 2)

The placement matches arent working in my opinion. I finished no 1 silver and then won it (convincingly) and im still in silver. Something is seriously wrong!
