Leagues & Ladders: The New Career Page

Leagues & Ladders: The New Career Page

Players ladder in StarCraft II for many reasons. Some compete for the thrill of facing off against fellow players, win or lose. Others fight for the satisfying glow that victory brings. For others still, competition is simply about surpassing personal bests.

Whatever your reason for competing on the StarCraft II ladder, now you'll be able to keep track of your past ladder glories with the new Career page.

The Career page, accessed by clicking on the "Career" tab under Leagues and Ladders, displays information about a player's ranking history for all seasons (prior to the current season), as well as across all ladders. The highest rank a player earns for each ladder will be represented by a unique banner on the page commemorating the season, league, and ladder bracket in which the rank was achieved. These banners will also feature the milestone icon associated with the player's ranking.

There are two ways to view a player's ranking history. In the first, players can see their entire career across every season in which they ranked, and in every ladder. Clicking the "Entire Career" tab will display reward banners for the best rankings they had for each season, including both team and solo play. The banners are grouped by season, and display in order according to the ladder they were earned in. Players can also choose to view their ranking history in specific ladders (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4), to see their career accomplishments at that level of play alone.

In total, 10 banners are displayed per page, after which additional pages will populate similar to the Join Custom Games list. If a player hasn't been ranked -- either in a specific ladder or in their entire StarCraft II career -- a "No Career Finishes" message will display in the center of the screen.

I cant believe they wont show win/loss below master but they will show your best league for every season. I think there should be an option to hide the career page or mb it should only be shown to you by default.
As well as this position in your league is meaningless, some leagues are much more active than others. I would much prefer to see points or world/region ranking. If someone only plays their placements at the end of the season this could either show them as #1 in a new league or #100 and not even show any stats to show how that is different from being #1 in an active league, show unused bonus pool or something. Thumbs down for this new page :(.

As others said, the main page is terribly messy to read.

Like people say its hard to compare seasons. I say divide the two rows

idc if it is 5 badges or4 or 6 or whatever( you have 4 leagues + all random leagues, maybe an option to choose what league you want to see ), but I think its best to make the top row show the current season(or the option to choose what season you want to show there) and when switching the page only the bottom row will chance to another season while the top row stays the same season.

1 row shows 1 season.

Overall Idea is great!!!!

I like the idea... but.... There are 4 leagues to qualify in each year. So putting 5 badges in a row makes it harder to compare each season, let alone pagination (I mean it will be after 5 seasons or so). I'd put either only 4 badges per row or make 5-th badge smth like "overall season badge".

@Morbidus: Really dude? You wanted to wait for starcraft 2 for another year, so It would have been released a month ago or something like that. If they need to have every single feature they want to implement in the game, when the game is released, I'd take very very mutch longer to develop.

@Freemind: I don't think he ment it as "the game shouldn't have been released with out it", maybe.. MAYBE.. It was more of a "Hey, it could have been cool if we have had this from the start..

It's a nice start, but proper statistics for the seasons (W-L per race/map, etc) would be neat. This is just show.
