eSports: Climbing the Ladder

eSports: Climbing the Ladder

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is launching globally next week and interest in ranked competition on the ladders has increased. So has the number of questions concerning eSports and eligibility. While we have a lot of ground to cover on this particular topic (and have plans to do just that in the near future) we wanted to answer one specific question regarding regional ladders. It’s important to note that each region will have its own ladder. Should you choose to purchase a StarCraft II box or license for a region you do not reside in and climb the ranks, you will not be eligible for that region’s competition, as eligibility is often determined by your country of residence. If you intend to qualify for official Blizzard Entertainment tournaments, you should compete in your own regional ladder. We want to bring the best of the best from each region together for global competition, and we know that we'll see some great gameplay in the months and years to come. We look forward to seeing you at the top. May the best player win!

I live in the middle east , and I only found a game license belonging to the European region, does this mean that I am not qualified to participate in these tournaments . This is really bad :(:(:(:( I hate rules like this

@CZLukas: Then you know you're not high enough. Which should suffice. Unless you are top 5 in a diamond bracket.

@Dokujin: but even being 1st in diamond could mean being 100th region wide, cause there are so many leagues

Why is that people in middle-east are subjected to play against people in Europe to qualify for Blizzcon and etc. Not only is the connection better for the Europeans but they have sponsorships and overall much better competitive community!!
