Patch 1.4.2 Now Live!

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty patch 1.4.2 is now live! This small patch features several bug fixes, as well as balance changes. Be sure to check out the full patch notes below to learn all about the latest changes.
 

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - Patch 1.4.2

Table of Contents

General

  • “Alert Fade” under Sound Options has been renamed to Game Volume During Alerts. Its tooltips have also been changed for clarification.
  • The fade-in for game sound during alerts changed from .5 seconds to 2 seconds.
  • • Play-Time Schedule under Parental Controls now applies World of Warcraft settings to StarCraft II

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a truncation on specific resolution if the current and maximum supplies are 3 digits.
  • Fixed an issue which prevented footprints from being edited in the Footprint Editor.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to have missing icons and images on low end graphics cards.

Balance

  • PROTOSS
    • Forge
      • The cost of Upgrade Shields Level 1 has been decreased to 150/150, down from 200/200
      • The cost of Upgrade Shields Level 2 has been decreased to 225/225, down from 300/300
      • The cost of Upgrade Shields Level 3 has been decreased to 300/300, down from 400/400
      • The cost of Upgrade Ground Weapons Level 2 has been decreased to 150/150, down from 175/175
      • The cost of Upgrade Ground Weapons Level 3 has been decreased to 200/200, down from 250/250
      • The cost of Upgrade Ground Armor Level 2 has been decreased to 150/150, down from 175/175
      • The cost of Upgrade Ground Armor Level 3 has been decreased to 200/200, down from 250/250
         
  • TERRAN
    • Ghost
      • EMP radius has been decreased from 2 to 1.5

Dunno guys, but I think toss is a more valuable race as it is now, cuz lately I'm having trouble against them, while vs zerg or terran I'm pretty ok. It's also supported by the fact that while I use 2 same builds for both match-ups and they work fine most of the time, against toss I was forced to learn at least 3 and still struggle to execute them correctly. For the record, last time I played the game like 2 months ago, I was having a lot of trouble with zerg. Just my 50 cents.

Great patch. Protoss have had a hard time vs. terran. This should make the matchup much more balanced.

This patch is great! It actually gives Protoss a chance to get on the same level as Terran or Zerg for once. Being a Protoss player im finding it extremely difficult to win a game lately.

yes, before the new patch was released were the highest gm:s terran
(in EU), but now are 1,2 and 3 all protoss! bad patch I think...

never mind that, but think about the arc cannon...in this state, it'll make protoss proxy attacks a lot easier (assuming the player is dumb enough not to scout around to find the proxy, ofc)

@DaloLorn: it kills workers in 2-3 shots, same goes vs marines and zerglings/banelings...4-5 vs hydralisk...i wouldn't like to be a terran or zerg opponent vs gateway proxies anymore :)

Why isnt the damn lag fixed yet? Seriously, this has been going on for months (ever since 1.4.0) and should be priority number 1! Everyone I know is affected by it, and its becoming more and more annoying all the time.

Nice patch. FIX THE DAMN LAG. Thx.

isnt it enough that toss have the chrono boost?
This isnt balance its more like unbalanced!
This is just to lame to be true :/
It feels like there no point anymore to play this game when they are to powered, upgrades are like the most important thing in the game..... and you do reduce the time on it...... dont have any words only.... LAME!!! ;/
