World Championship Series: Europe Nationals

World Championship Series: Europe Nationals

We‘re excited to bring you an update regarding Blizzard’s new eSports competition: the StarCraft II World Championship Series. The series consists of prize tournaments in nearly every part of the world that will bring players from all over the globe together to compete like never before.

It all starts with the National Qualifiers, where players (maybe even you!) will battle it out for a chance to prove their mettle and qualify for the National Finals. The top players from each country will then compete in the European Finals. From there, winners will earn the right to fight in the StarCraft II World Championship Series, where they’ll strive to win amazing prizes and the title of World Champion. We’ll have more details to share about this tournament in the very near future.

If you’re keen to be part of the action, join one of the qualifiers for the Nationals listed below, and go head to head against others from your country. We’ll be sharing further information on how to sign up as the event dates approach, so check back often for your chance to join.

There are many countries that are missing, but I think it is because Blizzard is organizing the tournaments in places where there is a concentration of players who have already proved themselves. For example: WhiteRa, TLO, Stephano, Cloud et cetera...

Sure this is a stupid question (and not entirely relevant since I'm bronze at the moment lol) but I've always wondered how people actually enter tournaments. Like generally what's the process from start to finish if you know what I mean.

@iLoveSoe: that's what combined european is. If a country hasn't got a big starcraft audience there's not really much point spending money and effort setting up production. I agree with their decision of putting all the competitors from the countries that don't host a national event in a league of their own, at least they can prove themselves and still be drafted.

@GranMasterMc: When they learn to respect other humans(Women, Gays & Lesbians) Blizzard will respect them. I hope. :D:D

Now in all seriousness they just have too few players to have their own tournament, though some of them are included in the Combined European Nationals I think.

@Jarb: They must be in the European Combined. If the country is not large enough, it plays in the Euro Combined, like other "not european" countries, but which are part of EMEA.

Czech Republic is still so overlooked, as well as Slovakia. You could do even these nations combined, but don't overlook them. There are many Blizzard fans in there.
