i believe that you sould insert a second system of searching maps that will be a list of created games from users like Warcraft 3

With tabs

tab 1 shows popular games and tab 2 shows the list

I'm baffled at how many players are considering my WGX Nagrand a rock-paper-scissors game, to be honest. I would recommend playing against some higher rated players first, and convincing yourself that ending a round 16:0 or making it to the Top10 isn't exactly "matchmaking luck" :)

@Azathoth: I agree there are builds which are stronger than others, that's the point of having specializations and an army composition phase afterall. Spectating helps understanding what you are probably going to face in the next few minutes, every army has indeed its own difficult matchups but cheesy/air builds are just plain bad so if you are being HARD countered by anything I would suggest something is wrong with your current build.

Anyway, I really wanted to thank Blizzard for making the map visible and saving it from its drowning agony on page X (at least for a week). The system definitely needs a rework, but I think this is a great idea in the meanwhile. My own suggestions for the next week would be Hex'd by Qancakes and Netstorm by Sickness, I can tell a lot of work was put in both of them.

It's something, but it's hardly anywhere close to wc3. I get what they are trying to avoid.. But, this is a step in the right direction but still not quite there. Keep tryin' blizz! We'll be waiting :)

There's too much cheese on this map. Also, since you don't know what units your enemy will have, there are builds which are better than others just because the chance of a counter is smaller, not because you've got skill and know how to deal with certain threats.

Two maps, one of which is a remake, the other is a very basic Rock-Paper-Scissors + some Micro type of map... Good job for killing the custom maps scene.

Nexus Wars has not enough tactical depth to be a good map and it is not localized in any way so it is a pain to play. Hope for some better remakes soon.

I wonder how stupid some players are to stick with the top 5 maps for this long even playing broken and buggy maps! what the heck... imagine how much fun you could have if these maps were made better and bugfree :-o

Go play IncomeWars or IncomeWars PRO or better yet Infernal Arena!

Nexus Wars is a great and fun map, it is a little bit buggy yet, but its awesome, and with a little improvement, it has the potential to get one of the best custom maps imo =)

And yes as araged said, it's a ripoff of Castle fight, which beats Nexus Wars so hard it isn't even funny.

Oh, and anyone know if the SC1 campaign is being worked on for the SC2 engine? I would KILL to play it. The story is just awesome, but looking at the 640x480 resolution is giving me headache...

I really enjoyed the Precursor missions, remember playing them in StarCraft 1 so it was a pure nostalgic trip. It was in the demo originally, right?

Anyone who can recommend some similar maps on the b-net? The map browser really could use a few more options...

Map I can recommend: Infernal Arena.
