Heart of the Swarm Update - New Video

A large number of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm demo stations were featured at the MLG Spring Championship that ran June 8-10, where attendees sat down to see the future of StarCraft II multiplayer first hand. We wanted to share the excitement with players who couldn’t be there in the flesh, so here’s a video featuring the latest updates to the Heart of the Swarm multiplayer units.
The video you’re about to watch includes all the latest updates we’ve made to the new Heart of the Swarm multiplayer units since they were unveiled at BlizzCon last year. Check it out to see the latest changes:
Now that you’ve had a chance to see what the new Heart of the Swarm units are all about, let’s watch them in action! Day[9] and Blizzard’s own Rob Simpson shoutcast these battle reports for your viewing pleasure. A big thanks to Day[9] for dropping by; you can catch his show on Day9.tv Sunday through Thursday at 7:00 pm PDT.
Zerg battle protoss in this battle report.
Terran face off against zerg in this battle report.

The only Protoss unit with high DPS? Thats sucks!
Don't get my wrong, I love the carrier, it's a classic unit, but it's countered by stim marines...
in WoL they dont have a roll but now with the viper tempest the protos need a swarm siege unit also what must match againts mass thors tempest ? with there slow weapon speed
let carrier stay he is the only unit who blizzard wil remove i think carrier need to kill thor-viper-oracle-tempest
meby voidrays can kill tempest but im sure tempest have more speed and a ball deals 40 dam (+10 amored) so if a tempest behinde the mineral field with the 22 range ubrage i think you can never kill them
i agree with to nerf carrier but i think if you make him cheaper and set off the auto increptor make the carrier intercraptor magezine to 6 and start with 2 increptors remove gravici catapult (the carrier ubgrade @ fleet beacon) so i think carrier wil be balance and more be using
if you remove carrier i think tempest is realy unbalce vs protoss with 22 range and faster than voidray phoenix cant deal because they are to weak vs machinical
window mine can never be balance of blizzard would that unit back pud it into raven remove auto turret ( auto turret is for harrash but uhh they are to slow) tha you have raven for support
zerg is cool but i think you need an mass anti air unit or brin scoure back with corruptors vs mass coidrays muta dont work al time and hydra uhh if you play smart its bye bye hydra
think about it blizz
Also i thought this expansion is about making diversity in builds but the way i see it protoss still has the same composition. You can't go mass air because you can't win air battles against vikings or corruptors, you can only use air units for support the way i see it so you still have to make pretty much the same composition that is used in WoL.Don't get me wrong i like the new things protoss got like the oracle for harassment and mothership core but i feel it is more of a correcting things from WoL than actually adding something new. Both Z and T have entirely new composition to use, but P doesn't.
Also i noticed new upgrades for Z and T.Why are there no new upgrades for P?It could at least be a small upgrade or something. You could at least make like upgrade for faster zealot movement that could be made in gateway and charge would be as an additional upgrade in Twilight Council.Any new upgrade for the units P has would be good.
This is just my opinion based on what i saw.I still like HotS but i am a bit dissapointed.
What im also really worried about is, imagine your defending your bases with siege tanks and warhounds against a protoss. An oracle swoops in and entombs your mineral line. What happens then, do the siege tanks shoot the entomb shields and mass splash your own workers? to be honest, i like a lot of the new units, but the oracle just seems a little bit to goofy and gimmicky for starcraft two. I dont see it actually contributing to starcraft as an esport, nor as a casual game.
I totally agree that P is getting a little bit of the short end of the stick in terms of new unit comps, and also to your statement that the p has no new upgrades, protoss already has the least upgrades, making their units seem to be the most one-sided a-move units. they have no depth to them like a lot of terran units do (marine, marauder, siege tank, (battle)hellion, thor, banshee, all have interesting upgrades that make the units more interesting).
Just make hydras a tier 1 unit with roaches...
i feel like sentrys and immortals counter them tooo good..
and im toss btw :D
Mothership Core: I like the idea of protoss having some more base defense, and having the mass recall a bit earlier in the game will definetly be a help.
Oracle: I like Entomb, but it's a very powerful abillity as it is now, they should decrease the hp on the mineral fields a bit so it won't take too long to take them down. I still don't know about the cloaking field though.
Tempest: Nice idea i would really love to have some long ranged air in late game. But i think the range might be a bit to much, then again i haven't played the game yet.
Battle Hellion: I love this unit, definetly something that will make Terran a more interesting race atleast for me.Warhound: I like the new idea of it just being an anti mechinal unit and not just a mini thor. The new model is a bit better, but i still think they could make a better one.
Widow Mine: when i first heard the idea of an anti air spider mine, i was just like "That isn't gonna work". While we haven't seen it attack air yet, i think it might actually be an alright idea now. The icon on the unit it's attached to doesn't really fit into the Starcraft style though. Maybe they could make the spider mine stick to the unit (As it sticks to the ground) and then give it some shiney red light to make it more visible. (Might even replace the timer with a small "Beeb" sound that becomes faster and faster the closer the bomb is to explode)
Swarm Host: Nice unit, but did anyone else notice the trailer said it could attack air? Too me it looks much more like an anti ground unit. Well Zerg needs some more stuff attacking air and ground anyways so it's quite nice. Don't know how the anti air attack will look though.
Viper: I like abduct, it really helps pull long ranged units right into the middle of the fight. But my concerns are about Blinding cloud. After what they said in the Battle Report it seems like this only works on biological units, which means it will only work against Terran and Zerg, since Protoss have no ranged bio. I think this might be a problem and the solution to it will probably be to change it from reducing ranged attacks to 1 on bio only, to instead decrease range by 3 to 5 on all ranged units (down to a minimum of 1 ofc).
Ultralisk: Nice new burrow charge, i'll definetly be using Ultralisk more as soon as this is out.
Well that got a bit long, anyways that was just my opinion on the new changes, you might like it and you might not.
Keep up the good swarm work Blizzard ;)
Is it not possible for HOTS Terran to have a unit that can heal Mech army just like Medivacs for Bio? Or at least add some kind of anti ground building to handle Oracle harassment.
