Battle.net SMS Protect: Have You Heard?

Battle.net SMS Protect: Have You Heard?

You’ve probably heard about the benefits of using a Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app by now. But did you know that a few months ago, we introduced a new, optional security measure called Battle.net SMS Protect that works in tandem with the Authenticator to help safeguard your account?

Battle.net SMS Protect lets you perform certain account actions, such as removing your Authenticator, from your mobile phone, and can be set up to provide you with account-activity notifications. All you need is a supported text-enabled cell phone to get started.

What can Battle.net SMS Protect do for you?

  • Unlock your Battle.net account
  • Remove a damaged or lost Authenticator
  • Recover your account name
  • Reset your password

In addition, you can turn on alerts to have text messages sent directly to your phone notifying you of certain kinds of account activity, such as password changes and security feature additions or removals.

These text messages are a free* and easy way to help protect your account from unauthorized access and changes.

Remember, you can help further safeguard your Battle.net account by never sharing your password, using unique passwords on each site you visit, and being aware of potential email and phishing scams.

For more information on Battle.net SMS Protect and instructions on how to set it up, visit the Battle.net SMS Protect FAQ.

We also encourage you to learn more about what you can do to help safeguard your account by reviewing the various resources available on our security checklist.

*Your phone carrier's standard rate for received text messages may apply.

So Blizzard, is this why you keep blocking my account for "suspicious" activity even though I ALWAYS log on with the SAME IP!??

Well, the SMS protect did help me when my account was locked due to 'suspicious activity'. Still, I have no idea why they would lock it, it's stupid.

I deserve a beta key for having to cope with that. :)

It's a nice system, to bad the codes your getting on your phone keep coming up as invalid on the battle.net website when you trying to logon from a different location.
