Mac performance

Hello,
I've seen a lot of posts about this and would like to put up my voice about this as well. The performance I am getting with SC2 on my mac laptop is horrid, I'm forced to run on low settings, anything else is unplayable. On my bootcamp partition with Windows 7 however, I can easily run the game with most settings medium, some even high. (Granted that I downgrade the resolution to 1024x768 instead of 1280x720 there). The laptop is a late 2009 macbook model with 4gb memory, a 9400m gpu and 2.26 ghz intel core 2 duo. The fact that under Windows 7 I can run the game flawlessly on pretty high settings has me at least excited that this should be possible under OSX as well, hopefully it can be figured out! Take care, Coma |

As many other reported, I have similar problem with a Apple PB 2010 (NVIDIA 9600GT). Also with all the settings at low, games start to lag (at intervals) after 10-30 seconds of play.
This is not a problem related to HW or settings, is related as far as I understand to the bad NVIDIA driver implementation done by Apple (not a surprise, know problem). I hope this will be solved soon as the game is totally unplayable at this time on NVIDIA equipped mac. I'm switching to BootCamp. |

Just put shaders on low, and leave everything else on recommended. Then you can even raise resolution to native 1440x900 and play without problems. The only delays I'm experiencing this way are in first 10 seconds from starting the level while everything loads.
I have late 2008 MBpro with 2 GIGs of ram. |
