Misinformation - is it BM or part of tactics?

I consider chatting any more than "gl" and "gg" BM. I hate when people start asking if you're German like in WC3.

So if i ask my opponent what he builds, and hes honest, i can crush him. Well, he can just ignore the question, but you have a point. It's not bad manners. And comparing it to murder, as DJVibrejtr did, is so ridiculous I won't even comment on that. This game is supposed to simulate war. And like Shafun said, a very important part of warfare is (mis)information. You're not harming anyone by lying that you're fast expanding whereas you're actually 4gating. It's just a game. And if they chose to believe you - it's a fail on their part. DJVibrejtr and Eruk would probably consider bluffing in poker as BM too ;) |

Nah its not BM, if you believe what your opponent says its your fault if he comes at you with something else. There's plenty of 'innocent' trashtalk in starcraft 2, same with any competetive sport. Part of the game is psychological so misleading the opponent is part of the game, its no different then cancelling tech to make the other player assume you're going with a certain build.

After seeing CombatEX in action I really think they should implement a function to turn off the chat.

I wonder how old is everyone here, like 12?
Lying is BM (which = bad manners) by definition.. If you really believe that in game there are other general rules than in real life, then you are just bunch of little kidos. You can bluff, that is part of the game, but lying is same everywhere - and everywhere its BM by definition. And again I repeat, BM = bad manners, not whatever you though before. @Prototype: you have time to post here while abusing matchmaking to play vs gold opponents and getting master points? Interesting.. |

lying, is bluffing and the other way around. not BM, saying that you are building a unit you really arent, not bm. not bannable. trash talk on the other hand, that is a completely different matter.
i would love to play poker with you DJVibrejtr, bluffing, winning the pot and watching you call your mother to complain that i didnt really have the cards that i said i had! |
