Hello all,
i notice a big decrease in FPS and a lot of lag after patch 1.4 on my macbook pro. Normally i have around 140 fps in the beginning of whatever match, now it begins at only 90 and while in battles it can drop to even ~25 fps.. I saw some other complaints on the US forums for mac and i was wondering if anyone else has this problem as well? Kind Regards, Skyfluks |

Dear krinskal,
thanks for your replies! I did what you said, i even reinstalled starcraft 2. Yesterday everything was fine, now it's so laggy, i just had a battle with a 50 supply army vs 70 supply army and it wasn't going above 27 fps :( I really hope someone can help fixing it, because it's affecting a lot of other people as well i think.. Are there any other things i could try to get more fps? Everything is at its lowest already.. Thanks again! |

same here, and to add to the problems, I get such a terrible lag when the game starts that as soon as the game loads I get a "waiting for server" window, without even touching the drones... O_o

I noticed this too, playing StarBattle at the end with about 9 ships and the Mothership fighting at 20-25 FPS which never happened before, it was always smooth.
I have a 24" iMac8,1 with 2GB RAM and 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. GPU is ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro. Installed is OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I play over a private wifi which is barely fast enough to stream 360p YT videos but it has never been a problem for SC2 so far. Worst of all is I have all video settings set to the lowest possible quality except for texture quality which is at Medium. Vertical Sync and Reduce Mouse Lag are not enabled. The Refresh Rate option just appears blank. I even have sound channels set to the lowest (16). Edit: I wrote this after my first game with patch 1.4 but after a few more games I've realized that decreased FPS is 10 times less worse than the new lag I am constantly getting (I first thought a family member was using the wifi while I was playing but I've confirmed that my network speeds are fully available to me). It's so extremely annoyingly laggy that I can't actually play normally if at all. I hope this gets hotfixed soon. Edit 2: It seems to get worse over time. I just played a game with most of the time sitting at 5-10 FPS. Keep in mind this is at very low settings. When the game ended it took like 2 minutes to load the score screen, which actually ended up disconnecting me (it said the "achievements are disabled" message and i wasn't in the party anymore and my friends list indicator went to "0") AND crashing the game after several seconds of it being disconnected, all still at very low FPS. I should note that I have a Razer mouse (this issue seems to have some relevance with Razer products) but I can't confirm yet whether this massive problem would go away if I use another mouse. Edit 3: Another thing that has never happened before but has happened twice now under patch 1.4 is when I want to shut down the game it will just hang for seemingly forever (it seems to be doing something because I hear noises from inside the computer so it's not dead-frozen) until I use the "Force Quit" command on it. |

The lag is terrible, it makes playing almost impossible. What the hell was blizzard thinking?

I'm experiencing same issues as the users above. I play on a Hackintosh, Intel Core i5 3.3 Ghz with 4GB Ram. MacOSX 10.7.1
Before patch 1.4 it worked excellent, settings on ULTRA. Now lots of lag and settings on medium. Thanks in advance for fixing this, Blizzard. |
