I noticed there are alot of people who are complaining about their game closing at start~ These were some soloutions provided earlier today:

1: Make sure the game is running as administrator (Vista & Win 7 Users, Right click, run as Administrator) (XP users, your account needs to have Admin permissions on your computer)
This one seemed to fix most people's problems earlier today.

2: Internet Explorer > Tools (You can also access this from the control panel)> Internet Options > Connections > Lan Settings > Uncheck the Proxy tickbox at the bottom.
Some people were saying recent Viruses had changed their proxy settings which seemed to be effecting their connection. This was the provided soloution on the US forum.

3: Check firewall and Anti-virus settings, as they may be blocking internet access (Not really a problem for me, but some people do have more agressive FW and AV~ Best way to check if that is the cause is to disable them completely for a few minutes, then run the game. If it works, then there is your problem. )

4: For me none of these things worked, in the end I had to do a few things which I will detail in another thread (As I'm currently looking for support for it, it's the only way I can play the game) ~ http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/283408854

5: If all else fails, clean reinstall =/ I know a 12GB install is a painfully long experience. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot LMShinigami! I was suffering from the virus changing my proxy settings. I was about to reinstall, thanks again mate :)

No solution for me, still crashes whenever I click connect.

I had a problem at one time where sc2 would minimize at start up and every try to get it back by clicking it on the taskmanager would make it minimize it again right away

reinstalled the video card driver rebooted win7 64bit
and it worked fine again

Hello !

I got the problem that when I start my launcher, I get the patch window showing. But it's not downloading. After 5-10 seconds it just closes down without any warning or error message.

I also tried to go threw the SC2Switch.exe but the only thing that happend were that I got into the game. But when it tried to logg-in the game decided to close itself and take me to the patch window again. Which closed after 5-10 seconds.

I have been controlling EVERYTHING in this thread, but there is nothing that will help. Do you have any other ideas how I can fix this. It's always the same problems on the patches, I have to get it from other places.

Ps : reinstalling the game is not working either, nor the repair/uppgrade/download patch tools.

None helped still crashing after pressing the connect button....
