Topic What type of mouse do you use ?

Since most is posting about razer or logitech (advertising works!) im gonna give You some information about less known producers who make actually great stuff :).
First would be Mionix, Swedish company. http://www.mionix.net/
Im myself using their product, Mionix Naos 5000. Pretty much the best mouse i used and i hold alot of rats in my hand. Starting with mx510 through mx518, mx310 , diamondback, diamondback 3g, lachesis, mamba, roccat kone, copperhead, deathadder and few others.

What i can i say about Naos is that its sensor is great and extremly precise, click is very light (which is very important for an rts game) and it slides on my mouspad like a dream (I'm using Roccat Sota). Little tap on the mouse and it slides 10-15 cm :).Mouse itself is very light, which is also a plus for RTS games. However if You are fan of heavy mice, You get 8x5g weights along with it :).

Ofc you get all the stuff like profiles, on fly dpi change bla bla bla
Also once You grab it, You will fall in love with it ;).

Only minus of this mouse is price :/. But im honestly saying that im really impressed by this mouse performence and this is by far the most comfortable mouse I've ever had.
But if You dont want/need laser sensor, there is also Naos 3200 that has optical sensor and is much cheaper :) IIRC only thing that differ between those 2 mice is sensor.

Other producer im gonna mention is Roccat, which is fairly new german company. http://www.roccat.org/
They have few mice, but i personally held and played for some time only on 1 of them, Kone.

Roccat Kone is also laser mouse, comes along with 4 weights (5/10/15/20) but only 1 can be placed in mouse at the same time. Kone is actually much heavier than Naos from what i felt when i used it. Shape of this mouse is quite similar to mx518 and after using mx518 for couple of years, when i grabbed Kone it felt like mx518 with more precise sensor, better sliders, more functions and nice rubber coating :)

Then there is KTM KTEC :) Korean company whos mice look terrible (pretty much like cheapest mouse you can get in hipermarket) http://www.ktecmouse.com/ [Page is in Korean]. However don't be fooled by looks or speccs of these mice, they are known to be extremly good RTS mice. I haven't used one myself as its hard to get 1 outside of korea and when you actually find it its extremly expensive cause of shipping cost etc, but anyone i talked to who had any KTEC mouse was extremly satisfied with it (speaking obviously about original Starcraft players). Also Longelivity of these mice is beyond great ;]

If You look for recommendation i would say get Mionix Naos :) It's expensive but its great :). However in the end its all about your personal taste since rts games dont want more than precision (to some extent), light weight and light click.

Using a Logitech G9 i've had for a few years now. The profile-save feature by this (and several other) mouse is priceless when using multiple machines (and for tournaments); since you can configure profiles to act against the OSs and games default settings, making future setups completly unecessary (just activate the appropriate profile on the mouse). Software unnecessary after the first configuration. (I've not had it installed for over a year)

Tried Razer mice in the past, but twice i got struck by their well known quality and firmware-self-destruct issues.

And a Steelseries G7 keyboard. Mechanical across a PS/2 port is king for RTSs, no questions.

Tried Mionix mice, not quite my cup of tea.

Thumbs up for a Roccat Sota though - thing works great (just don't get the damn thing bent during transportation, its a pain to undo)

Using a Logitech G5 mouse, it works extremely well for me as it has this little box beneath it where you can place different weights(all come with the mouse) and decide how much you want it to weigh.

I have one too, and I was surprised at how 10g can make a difference :) I was also surprised to learn that cordless mice like the MX1000 really do have input lag.
Im never going cordless, people can talk all day about zero input lag but i simply refuse to take the chance :P
Im split between the MX510 and this G5 being the best mouse i ever used.

i use a door mouse, it is agile and flexible, however it does have a tendancy to nibble through mouse mats and squeaks alarmingly when you try to plug it into a usb port.....

Lol'd at this

Using my Logitech G5 mouse that only cost me £27, bloody bargain for all the stuff this mouse has tbh.
Though I have no found use for the customizable buttons in SC2, not sure if anyone uses them in SC?

I'm using Logitech G9, really comfortable (although might not be if you have large hands) and precise. I haven't found a better mouse and I will be using this one for years (when it breaks I'll buy a new G9x) .

it relly doesnt matter what mouse you use. My mouse is made for FPS games but there isnt any diference from any other mouse i had. Just get use to it and it will be perfect. BTW i have more problems with base for mouse... at the moment i dont even have any so my mice is directly on desk.

The MMO WoW mouse.

Yes it's an expensive mouse for what it can. But I like it. It's big and fits my hand. There is also 2 sidewings on it to rest my thumb and lil'finger.

And 15 bottoms to play with + shiny colors :)

Biltema mouse for roughly 4euro, 1000DPI but only 2 buttons and a scrollwheel.

Mousemat from Komplett, came with my last computer for no additional feel.

I am a cheapass gamer;p

I'm just using a little crappy logitech mouse. I mean it just has 2 buttons, a scroll wheel and the shape of it isn't overly comfortable either.

A professional gaming mouse isn't essential though, but if theres one mouse I'd like to use, its a Razer Naga.
