StarCraft® II

Zerg Multiplayer Guide: Compilation(Now in PDF)

(Sticky)

Allot of work and dedication put into this guide and tutorial. I read it all and it's filled with usefull information, and even information that that u already know but were forgetting about, or overlooking it because of other priorities during a game.

Hope that players will appreciate your effort as much as i do, thumbs up, and thank u again :)

The only thing i would consider usefull for the PDF, would be an index before starting the guide, so u can jump directly to a page/title u are interested in, instead of scrolling untill u find it.

For ex:
7. Countering unit formation tactics Pag.14
7.1 Terran Pag.14
7.2 Protos Pag.15

Or something like that

Don't know why I didnt think of that myself.

Kinda a rookie but I saw some nice moves on an opponent that might save ya time at start
When you reach 10/10 you build 2x Extractors to drop it to 8/10.
You create two more drones and then cancel the Extractor. You have regained the two drones from cancelling and you have 12/10 supply. in a few seconds a larvae spawns so you could build the 1st overlord. I think it gives ya a bit more minerals to start your pool sooner.

I didn't check or anything :) as I'm not that hardcore, I leave that to your judgement.
Let me know if it's any good.

Thanks for the great introduction to Zerg tactics. Never played SC 1 (only picked up SC2 couple days ago), so I've been rooting around the tactics forums for a while, this is a great beginner's guide. Clear, concise, and very newbie friendly. A well deserved sticky :)

the thing is, canceling a building does not return its cost 100% it just saves some of the cost. At least its like that for refineries. Try it, and you will notice that your mineral count suddenly is not divisable by 5.

The "loss" in already accumulated minerals versus the few extra seconds of harvesting time, doesnt really affect your game... Not by much anyway.

This guide helped me getting a deeper understanding of the Zerg mechanics and made ultimately a better player.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Knobtremor, thank you.

I really, really, love you.
I love this game, despite being generally horrible at RTS-games and usually avoiding them like a plague (SC2 is the first RTS I've bought since Dawn of War came out).

This taught me so much. +1

@Knobtremor

please consider to add this
http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/441826383
to the part regarding creep expansion.

I (and the OP, and many other players, as you can see in the thread) was completely unaware of this mechanic and the behavior of the tumors ("perma-cloaked").

New update is in the works, 2 new sections so far, (1 isnt finished) and a table of contents incoming. I will add a tutorial on creep spreading too, if there is time (should be out sometime saturday)
