A Battle.net Authenticator can represent an excellent way to add an additional layer of security to your Battle.net account. We appreciate that our players make use of their authenticators, and to help make them more convenient, we’ve introduced the authenticator by-pass. Those of you that have World of Warcraft accounts may already be familiar with how it works: when you log into a Blizzard game from the same location, you won’t always be prompted for an authentication code until you attempt to log in from a different location.

The authenticator bypass is active for StarCraft II, and is enabled by default. Those of you who wish to disable this feature can do so by opting out of the bypass on your Battle.net account management page. If you opt out of the by-pass, you will be prompted by Battle.net for an authentication code each time you log in.

Of course you can. It's not necessary, only optional as an extra measure of safety.

I usually play Starcraft II on both laptop and desktop, will I be constantly prompted me for the code everytime I switch computer or will it remember both as 'safe'?

I was just thinking about getting one but what happens if I lose it somehow?

Edit: It says that it costs 10 eu. Can someone who has bought one through the blizzard shop tell me if there is any extra shipping costs if you are further away?

APP... um.
Considering Androids hackable nature... isn't that a bad idea?

do people really steal starcraft accounts? like there's something to gain by doing so..? dunno man, seems a little far-fetched... also would that mean that blizzard is saying their own password system is unsafe? :> in WoW i get it - u have a level whatever (I don't play it) character with some super rare magic items that can cost real money, but here... I dunno guys help me out with this one... o.O

This is about Battle.net accounts.
For many people their SC2 account is their WoW account.

No (or at least not less than other password systems)
