I have some stuttering issues with SCII. The game randomly stutters (like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnQWFdbHFNg) and it's driving me crazy!!!#@!# Enough so for me to make a thread about it, which is saying quite something. The lag has not always been there (it started like a few months back, I think after a patch) so I don't believe it's an hardware issue. I've had the follow system for quite some time now.
I5 2500K
4 GB RAM
ATI 6970 (latest drivers ofc)
Win7
which should be plenty to run the game on ultra. I also tried lowering to high. Doesn't help. I also don't think it's my internet either since I play BF3 with hardly any lag. Also my friend has the same issue. He's running Nvidia though. After a recent updates of his Physx drivers (which SCII doesn't use correct?) he says that his game runs smooth again. As an ATI user I don't have this option so I turn to you. Are you aware of this issue, and if so is there a solution? I'd be happy to supply more info if need be, but please help me here. Trying to micro a battle with this lag is so frustrating ffs!

you should try to tone down antialiasing in starcraft 2 video settings and set antialiasing to "application controlled" in CCC

Hi,
my internet is fine. It's 20Mbit I believe and I have no problems in any other game whatsoever. I also have a proper anti virus program and AA is set to application controlled by default (and there is no option for AA in the video settings menu...). I really don't think has anything to with AA. Like I said before the game has worked perfectly with this PC and only started lagging like 6 months after release. Here is my DXdiag:

I have updated to service pack 1. As I suspected this didn't help. My temps are 67-70 when the lag occurs. So I don't think that is the problem either, specially since my system has run the game completely smooth for a couple of months. So thanks for the suggestions but I could use the next one :)

Ok so I've reinstalled and completely updated windows. I also updated all drivers I could think of and tried selective startup mode. It hasn't helped. Still there is this lag. Quite frequently, and annoyingly :( I really feel there is something wrong with SCII itself. Friends of mine have the exact same issue and we all have quite different setups. Moreover the lag was introduced after a patch if I recall correctly. So do you have another suggestion?

try disabling the catalyst AI in CCC and see if it fixes your problem.

Moonshadow Catalyst A.I. can't be disabled in CCC, only adjusted for either quality or performance. I appreciate your help, but with all due respect I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about. So Blizzard, it's time for the next suggestion or the acknowledgement that this is a SCII software issue. This is really ruinining my SCII experience here. Just the other day I lost another game because I was unable to micro for a few seconds during an 8 pool...

i have the same issue, only my game freezes even more untill it drops me from the game, also since patch 1.4 if i remember correctly.
