think u guys misunderstood me. i dont want it to be removed or nerfed. blitz got a reason for its state. just wanted some constructive critisism, which i kinda got.
also i leaned that unless ur master, ur gonna be treated like a total newb. kinda sad most forums are like that.(haha what a newb. only bronze. he proberly cannot even speak latin, have his own kingdom, and isnt filthy rich. such a N00B.) gonna get a few thousand victory's before making another threat.ill come bk covered in the blood of my foes. see u on the battlefield. dont qq to hard then i beat u. lol... |
What other scouting does Terran have?' Why not? I use phoenix for this exact reason from time to time. It is not like stalkers are gonna kill you. Besides, my problem with scan lies in how you can kill observers with it. Scan with thors or vikings around and you are almost guaranteed to kill the observer(s). Then cloak ghosts and run in for guaranteed emps and it is game over. 270 minerals is a rather low opportunity cost for even just the chance of such a thing happening. |

I use phoenix for this exact reason from time to time. It is not like stalkers are gonna kill you. It's very unnessecary for you to use that. As Protoss. |

Why not? I use phoenix for this exact reason from time to time. It is not like stalkers are gonna kill you.just use a hallucination from a sentry. much cheaper. also there is no risk for the phoenix to be shot down |

I obviously dont build a stargate just for a scouting phoenix, but since you are gonna have medivacs either way, whats stopping you from scouting with a drop? Sentry hallucination is another good way to scout, like floating a rax, or building a reaper. But you already know all this. Question is if you are willing to trade minerals and gas for information.

Scans are not OP. They are good, but not OP.
Scan pros: - Large vision area - Detection 'on demand' (here it is important to take into consideration that the other form of mobile detection the terran has is an expensive unit that requires relatively high tech) - Can't be stopped - Can be used everywhere - Can be spammed in the lategame Scan cons: - Are expensive in the early and midgame - Scouting with scans is based on luck. (there is a chance to miss tech on maps with large bases) - Only lasts 10 seconds - Fixed position (cloacked units can escape) |
