Like the title itself indicates, unlike on sea, na, kr servers on eu, as far as i can see LADDER has not been locked.

I want to know what is the reason for this?
Why are we any different?
Why haven't we been notified?
Why have we been given false information about upcoming ladder lock?

Our bonus pool is still growing and we can still be demoted/promoted while this is not the case on earlier mentioned servers. ON top of that last news that was releeased on eu battle net regarding lock is that it will be on Wednesday 8th.

I'm really curious about this as well.....

I think it's pretty safe to assume, at least according to my past experience, that there is more chance for immediate apocalypse then for any of eu staff to dignify us by doing their job and provide us with a simple answer.


So i took the liberty and opened a topic on teamliquid.com just to see if i can actually find out what the reason for such behaviour and neglect to be frank.

And on top of everything i can safely say now, that i'm almost certain that season 5 isn't locked on EU ladder. I base my conclusion on the fact that my bonus pool keeps pilling up and it's getting spent when i play ladder games.
So Blizzard what about your announcement "The Season 5 lock will go into effect on Wednesday, 8 February." ?!

I bet they were really excited by the snow and thought 'lets go and make a hydralisk and an immortal snowmen locked in a vicious battle.' So they went outside to do this and afterwards went to an ice cream parlour for more snow related fun. And forgot all about the ladder lock.

...Thats what happened to me.

The bonus pool problem is just a display bug, it shows the points inflating, but you can't spend them.

Also, I didn't find any evidence that anyone got promoted in the last day (I searched a littl in sc2ranks).

Mine are getting spent, and beside the point, the real issue is what i stated above, why have double standards for gamers on different servers?

Anyway, what do you think of my snow man theory?

I'm putting this story about in the hopes that it will stick and Vaneras and the others will never live it down. The more they deny it the guiltier they will look. Like some early April fools joke.

These are residue from before the lock.

This is an issue of the bonus pool displaying incorrectly. Because the lock is indeed in effect, you cannot spend the new points you can see in your Battle.net profile. The bonus points you didn't spend before the lock are still available to you.

Ah! Much as we had expected.

I suspect some of us were a little disappointed that thre was no announcement though, but thank you for clearing things up. As ever we appreciate it.

Care to comment on the rumour going around that you were all busy playing in the snow and so forgot? :P

Well, i think enough time has passed for a response, i will now write my opinion as to what is the conclusion of this, before mentioned, issue.

1. Bonus pool glitch was never the reason for making this topic, by commenting on it you're just making an appearance of referring to actual problem, which in fact you're deliberately not doing.

2. I'm sad that gamers playing on eu servers are second grade/class gamers in the eyes of eu staff. This is unfortunate but the truth, and it got only confirmed in this thread. It's obvious to me that it is not the same to be a sc2 player on eu and us servers for example.

Yeah, they were making snowmen and forgot to do it. I knew it.

We provided you with the update as soon as we woke up and got to the office today, when it was confirmed what the issue was. If you mean the blog post about the lock - we were holding back until we had it verified for sure what the cause for this was, and that the lock was indeed in effect.

you cannot go to higher leagues, you can very well climb within your current league rank wise.

Oh, my bad. I thought you couldnt go up or down in your current league aswell.
