I would like to play more custom maps

Dear people from Blizzard,
I really like your game and I have been playing melee for a while (I am now in Gold league even!!). But sometimes you wish to play a custom game. So I have played a lot of 'Mafia' and 'Desert Strike 1338'. But eventually you wish to play a different map, so once I clicked the 'Fun or Not' button and I found a really cool custom game: It is called StarEvolution and you can evolve your character into bigger character and chat with other players. It was really fun. I would like to play this map again, so I created a game but no one joins my game. I have tried to create it at different times, but no one ever joins it. Is this a bug from my computer? How can I fix it so people will join my game? I have also tried to create different games but only when I create 'Mafia' or 'Desert Strike 1338' people will join. But I am bored of only playing these same maps always. Please help me to create a StarEvolution game, I don't know what is the problem? Kind regards, |

Thank you from your comment. But this means I can only play custom games on the first page? I have played Warcraft 3 also and you can just create a game and people will join even if it is not a popular map. Please tell me how to do this? I just wish to play a map I like, not one that is popular. Like in restaurant, I wish to go to the small one with nice food and where i know the cook, not to McDonalds. Kind regards, |

You will never find players in lobby after page 3. On page 3 you will find players only at nights when there are more player online.
Only other way to play maps after page 3 is to invite your friends or fun or not. Fun or not is piece of crap. And its harder to get friends with same taste, than back in w3 because this crappy popularity system. Also dont expect the map get on page 1-3, because about montly at max 2 maps get on page 1-3, because its a crap system and because less and less people make maps. I and many other map maker have been complaining about the popularity system since the release the SC2. But !@#$tard blizzard aint listening. I have access to the bet 1.5 patch, where they will make some changes on popularity system, and now it seems it will be just even worse. They just want to make a store from the maps, so they can earn more money from it and they are keeping only that in mind and not thinking about anything else at all. And dont worry about my crappy language and my rage on Blizzard, because they %^-* on the forums too and they never read any thread in this subforum. |

Custom game interface was always horrible. Beyond horrible in fact. Indie games in alpha stages made by college students during lunch breaks have better interfaces. I'm still trying to find a way to favorite a map I like, let alone actually bother to search for new ones I'd like.
I was ok with it being like that at release, rationalizing that they had other more important stuff to focus on and this was something left for addressing in a future patch. But now two years later it's kinda obvious Blizz just doesn't care. |
Patch 1.5? Hello? Just use open lobbies and it's like it was in scbw or wc3: a list of games with players in the lobby... The biggest difference is that you won't have 50 games of DOTA in the list. I've never played wc3 online, but that's how I imagine how it was. The other difference is that you can't name the game to search for specific things. Else, it would be more constructive for Blizzard to list the features appearing in the earlier titles that you really miss in addition to ideas how to even improve those features. |
