So, I watched GSTL, and was kinda impressed how NSH_Freaky played ZvZ. The VOD is up for anyone to watch at http://www.gomtv.net/2012gstls2/vod/67542 (skip to like 14 minutes for start of the match)
In short it was a normal start of pool + expand + gas, start speed, collect more gas for baneling nest, throw spine up at front ... Nothing out of ordinary. Kept drones on gas, planted evo chamber bit after 6 minutes to start melee upgrade at 7 minutes, took all remaining 3 gas geysers right after, and lair once gas allowed, and planted macro hatch bit before 8 minutes. Few more spines to the front as saturated on both bases, and infestation pit as soon as lair up. Infestation pit straight up is usually a reaction to fast mutalisks, but in that game he knew his opponent was going roach. Made a ton of lings, took third base with them. Pathogen glands obviously as soon as possible, and +2 melee attack as +1 was ready. Denied opponent's third with huge number of lings, and built a large number of infestors. Started overlord drop tech, missile attack +1 with a second evo chamber, and went for infested terran dropping on just about every base, while building quite a lot of spines in natural and third. Figured I'd share this here - it's not really a new style, but not very often used, and probably never to that extend in pro games. I sure plan on trying it some on ladder :) |

Yeah, I personally like it and I've used it a couple of times some months ago.
Bery interesting & good, especially on maps with multiple ramps , planting crawlers and massing fungals to any roach push. Deny expos, go run-by with tons of lings while teching. |
