If I may read between the lines (but only slightly) I think what Kapeselus is saying is that he actually 100% agrees with you, only they just don't have any time to spend on this. I take his point that if they go through their map creation procedure it would be quite resource consuming as there would be a lot of quality control and so forth associated before they could release a new map. However, my point is that perhaps they should just bypass this altogether and do something that requires minimal Blizz effort, but gets the community to do the work (perhaps a competition to create maps for the next season). I understand their point that community maps in the vast majority of cases will not match the quality of Blizz maps (not talking about the maps being good or bad, just the quality of design). But my point it if it can't be worse than what we already have lets just try it. I think most 3v3 and 4v4 players would support having 1 or 2 community maps in the map pool rotating each season so they can try and then provide feedback, perhaps like a vote they recently did for 1v1. And if the quality is a little less then so what? Would be much less effort for Blizz to then take the most popular 2 maps and tweak them. And in the meantime if people don't like them they can just veto. Blizz, any comments? Do you see involving the community as a good idea? How about asking us for help? The very people in this forum may be willing to try to organise something and put the proposal to you. Would you be open to that? |

he kinda said "we know there is a problem, but we don't have enough feedback on the problem, therefore we won't fix it"...
The idea with the community is great, on the other hand... |

Speaking of team ladder maps, can anyone tell me why Megatron was removed from the 4v4 pool? I am just curious.

Well the timing cant have been the problem for over a year, once HoTS is done you will start with next expansion etc. So you will never have the time unless someone is assigned to the task of making something happen. And considering all the players that acutally enjoy team games also is paying customers and supoorters of E-sport and a reason to the growth of SC2 and other games I would say the players deserves some updates on their pools aswell. Hiring someone to oversee and setting something up would certainly pay for itself with happier players. Once again thanks for answering. |

Just give a shout to the team to relocate their thoughts a lil bit onto this stuff, just a couple of days and just throw some maps in the map pool, no need to think them in a ultra mega manner, cuz mostly they're just for fun, even if many(including myself) are trying their best for a better rank.
Being amateur or a pro, playing solo or playing with friends, rarely or hardcore, cheesing all games or trying macro games, everybody played at least 1 team game in their SC2 journey. Some refreshments are highly needed and I think it won't hurt too much making happy a couple of thousand of players, cuz we all know Blizzard's tradermarked soon, and we accept it(tbh, what else we can do? lol), but can you look a lil bit more into our request? It's a win-win scenario, in my humble opinion. |
The problem is that mapmakers do not have an incentive to make teammaps, if Blizzard is not giving them one. These gamemodes are more casual, so it is almost impossible to play a new 4v4 map. Finding 8 players on a forum to test a new map is hard and a casual players cannot find that map ingame, if the map is not popular allready. On top of that a lot of maps are not published or updated in every region. However some good maps exist, as I pointed out here: http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/5035994656 As mentioned one solution would be to make another contest like we allready had for 1v1 maps. Let for example teamliquid.net host the contest, no work required from Blizzards if all the maps are not good and they do not put them in ladder pool. Another idea could be to change the way creating and joining a non ladder game works. Blizzard could select 8 maps for every team mode to create a "community pool". When creating/joining a game you select the category "4v4" and get only those maps instead of a huge list or at least those 8 at the top. Every week or two throw out the least popular map and add a new one. As there are not that much quality team maps out there, it would be a huge incentive to mapmakers getting into those 8 maps "recommend by Blizzard". Over time maps eventually get popular enough to be put into ladder pool. |
Just give us maps that are symethrical and identical mineral patches... because some of these 4v4 maps are just dumb... And for 2v2 maps.. please remove tyragor keep... Cant win if you dont have a terran on your team :) |
