New Zerg Unit

Hi everyone.

Now i know that you're probably fed up with people suggesting new units on these forums and how stupidly pointless, OP or game-ruining they could be, but hear me out. On the US forums i found this idea which seems to be incredibly popular:

For anyone who can't be bothered to click on the link it is an idea for a new unit called the zerg waspling (he's not sure on a name). Basically it's a unit whose purpose changes as the game progresses. It comes from it's own building, the waspling colony, that is hatchery tech. These wasplings are weak flying creatures that currently have no attack and are fairly slow, and are used as an early game scout (like overlords can be, but with no risk of losing 8 of your maximum supply). Since zerg is supposed to be the most reactive and adaptive race (or something like that :P) this sounds like a very useful tool for finding out enemy strategies.

However, upon reaching lair tech an upgrade can be researched which increases the wasplings speed and gives it a stinger, meaning they can now attack other air units. They basically become flying zerglings, which could be very useful considering many feel zerg have the weakest air of the three races, yet are too weak to really have an impact on aerial battles.

Later, upon reaching hive tech, another upgrade can be researched that allows individual wasplings to mutate into flying banelings (much like the scourge from brood war) at a small mineral and gas cost. This unit could really give zerg players some more options in their playstyle.

Well there you have it. My description of it is probably terrible, so just click on the link and see for yourself. I think it's an absolutely brilliant idea, it sounds like it has a very 'zergy' feel to it and really gives the zerg more aerial potential, it could fit into heart of the swarm extremely well It also addresses one of my pet hates, that being that zerg has the least number of units of the three races which i think also means the least number of strategies. But i'm just a lowly bronze player, so what do you guys think?

I've posted this in the wrong forum section, haven't I? Multiplayer would've been far more appropriate :P

What would be its purpose? Zerg had the overlord speed buff already, flying zerglings seem like kind of dull and useless, and scrouges would be really too good of a unit in SC2. Drops would be nullified and heavily discouraged, you could take out a fleet of medivacs in a single sweep, since crowd control doesnt work in air.

Aslo, bye bye mothership and this would basically make skytoss impossible, because anything short of phoenixes will get obliterated by them.

I remember i think Husky casted a FFA for complexity gaming (or maybe root) where they would aslo hafe some BW units, and man, one of zergs went scrouges and i remember Minigun going mass carriers. Now, carriers are weak in small groups but my god, 12 carriers got taken out by like 50 scrouges. Seriously.

Hmm, infested bunkers? But... why?
Maybe as a campaign unit, like the perdition turret.

Oh, and improve the hydralisk and I may consider playing Zerg in multiplayer.
