Problem about my league

I was in 2v2 platinium league but I haven't played for 1-2 weeks 2v2 thus my ranking is decreased nearly 50-60. Anyway I started to play 2v2 again and I became 10th in 2 days. However I lost a match, and that wasn't in a loss row, only single loss and aslo my points is the highest in the game (but my team mate was awful). After that loss I am relegated to gold league :(
How could it possible? It is unfair, 50th 100th ....players still in platinium but I am gold now, plus I was rising consistently. What is the rule? Could you please help me... |
Sure. You need to realise that rank doesnt tell you anything about skill. Rank is correlated with number of games played (because of bonus pool) not with skill. When you didn't play for a while, everyone else continued to spend bonus pool and moved above you. When you played again you gained rank again because you spent the bonus pool that you hadn't (but many others had). However, while all this is going on your MMR continues to update. MMR is your real skill level and it must have been going down. You were probably always close to a demotion but recent perforamnce has moved you into the next league down and stabilised there, which is why it has only just happened.
