PvZ, Blink All-in vs Robo All-in?
|
So, what do you guys use most often? I just actually learnt the 7 gate blink all-in, and it seems so strong versus any 2 base zerg. Just when I had 6 gates up, I had an unexpected nydus worm in my base. He swarms the place with lings. So I warp in 6 zealots, wait for next round and warp-in 7 (just finished gateway 7).
If I had roboed there, I'd have lost the game basicly. So what's the general idea? 5 gate robo vs zerg or 7 gate blink +2? I've tried both just a few times each (was doing BabyK's DT 2 base strategy before), and I find the blink one more potent of defense while the robo is more suited for attacks. Versus any 2 base zergs, I just add on 2 extra cannons and make zealots if needed from 7 gates. The blink all-in is basicly this: (Skipping cannons and pylons in BO for the ease. It's just the general concept. Forge, nexus, gateway, cybernatics core, 2x gas, warp gate, +1 attack, stalker, council, stalker, blink, + 2 attack, 6 gateways, proxy pylon, 7 stalkers, chrono gates, 7 stalkers, pressure 3rd base of zerg. I mean, even if zerg does not actually go for 3rd base, he can't really do much of anything from 2 base vs that many gateways. The only problem is that it's super all-in. If it fails=dead toss. Apparently one is supposed to pressure at 9.45 and +2 should finish just after. Early game prio for gas is: Warp gate, council, +1. Hitting the third around 10 minutes is nice, but this build requires alot of micro I've noticed. No problem if one has around 100 apm average. I pull it off decently. |

I am not sure blink all in is good against 2 base zerg or 3 base zerg with only gas mining. It is due to the barrow timing and most 2 base zerg (with macro hatch) will overwhelm Protoss with roach lings.
Robo all in is even slower than blink all in unless it is 2 immortals timing. The 2 base zerg still can overwhelm you if you go out there. However, most of the 2 base zerg timing are aggressive, you can try to use 2 immortals to hold natural and try to wall it off and expand third with colossi/blink. If you want to all in, I say do it against 3 base zerg, the window is pretty big for Protoss. 1 colossi blink or 2 immortal blink. Depend on the map, you might be able to attack natural instead of third and ff the main ramp. |

I did see Desrow do this vs both Sheth and IdrA. I mean, 3 base zergs can hold it, but some of them make alot of drones in which case they won't hold it unless they scout it with overlord which I like to use the 2 early stalkers for.
